Marketplace etiquette

I find selling stuff online a massive stress, I’ve done it in the past and had so many bad experiences I generally don’t bother

however, who’s right or wrong here…

someone messaged me asking if my item is still available, I’m online at the time and instantly reply yes!

3 hours goes by, no reply

someone else messages me saying they really want it

do I wait to see if the first person replies again or give it to the person who actually said they wanted it?

sorry if this sounds simple. I’m neurodivergent and the world of marketplace is a stressful one but I have a appliance that needs to go 🫣

It's still available until collected as far as I'm concerned and I tell everyone this when they enquire. I'll hold something for an hour max.
I've been messed around so much on marketplace.

Honestly, first come, first served. If you write the words 'No Holding.' on your advert then no-one will expect you to keep things for them and you can tell people it's available until someone collects it. I will always give people a little bit of time to reply but not hours. I'm always nice to people but I prefer someone who can collect straight away.

The ‘Is this item still available?’ message is as n auto one from FB. I’ve noticed that I’ve somehow sent those when just reviewing item descriptions. As a sell to don’t count them as a true expression of interest, especially if I’ve responded promptly.

Go with the ‘really want it’ person. If they do in fact really want it 😆
