Remind me again why PayPal is a bad idea for selling high value items....

I have arranged to sell a bike via a FB forum. Will be delivering it later in the week, and need to advise the buyer how I want paying.

I know PayPal is a bad idea, but can't remember why? Is it because the buyer could obtain the item, then tell PP they are not happy and get a refund?

I've done bank transfers and cash in the past, but since my local bank branch closed, I don't really want £100s in cash gaming around.

It's ok if you use tracked postage that you arrange but if buyer arranges or you drop it off you have no real proof and they could say they don't have the item

Get cash on the day or a bank transfer. When it is pay pal the buyer can claim it wasn’t delivered, get a refund and keep the bike. You’ll also loose a % of the price by accepting pay pal. You can pay in money into your bank via the post office counter I think?

Paypal is surely only a bad idea if a person plans to collect - as you will have no evidence they collected. Or if you don't use any form of recorded delivery.

I wouldn't accept cash for a valuable item
