Best products financially if getting rid of SkyQ?

Have had SkyQ for around 3 years. We have their fastest broadband package (a LOT of gamers in the house!) I have a really good offer for broadband elsewhere, and have been thinking of cancelling SkyQ as I just don't want the expense of it all anymore.

With Sky we get Netflix and Discovery+ included. I would want to keep Netflix, so will have to start paying for that. Not bothered about Discovery+, we watch it occasionally but only cos it's there. I also pay for Prime, not sure if we watch enough TV on prime to justify it BUT without Sky we may use it more.

TV is a smart TV and I have a firestick, not currently in use but is there if needed.

Also pay for Disney+, we use that a lot.

I have a lot recorded on the SkyQ box which I will lose, and lose the option of recording. I find it really useful to record things that I would otherwise forget about, and things that I have been using for my studying.

We don't have cinema, we don't have sports. None of this is needed! We do have a SkyQ mini box in the bedroom but again, also have a chromecast (and/ or the firestick) so not necessary, more of a luxury.

So, what would be my best options to get...
Live TV
Disney+
Netflix
Prime
Recording options (or do I just get with the times and just use on demand and streaming!)

It may be I'll be best off sticking with SkyQ for TV and just changing the broadband and cancelling multiroom, as I get Netflix included and we watch a lot of it! And then I get to keep the recording option and on demand.

What other options are there? I have looked around but am just befuddled with all of the options! Thank you for any help!

We got rid of sky years ago. When we first left, we had a Freeview box with a recording function. This also allowed us to watch Netflix, Amazon etc and had lots of apps. I think it cost about £200, but seeing as Sky cost us about £50 a month, it was a good investment.

Nowadays, we just have a smart TV. We watch the main channels through their apps, ie All4 has all the channel 4 channels, but other than that watch very little live TV. I think it depends on what you watch and whether you delve into the Sky channels. I don’t really miss all the filler!

Got rid of Sky ages ago here, I use a Fire Stick and flit between the screening apps, no need to record these days.

Thank you for the reply!

I think I am going to have to take the bull by the horns and just cancel the whole lot. It's so much money every month.

We do channel surf in the evenings, but like anything, if it's not there we won't miss it. I will keep Netflix and Disney+, and Prime for now. We have a smart TV already so I don't even really need to get a freeview box for now, and, when house of the dragon is back, I can get a Now TV entertainment pass for a couple of months.

In theory, I believe I will save around 70 a month. Possibly more. And that is just too much for so much we can get for free.

Oh, I suppose, do you all have landlines? I don't like talking at length on my mobile, I struggle to hear sometimes. Currently mine is VOIP through the Sky router.

Yes, we still have a landline! Much prefer it for actual talking on the phone.
