Question for new mums

I'm going to visit a new mum next week & want to buy her a gift. What would you have liked someone to bring you? I have stuff for the baby but want something specifically for her. It's also her toddlers birthday so she has a lot in her plate.

I'm sure she will be grateful for anything! But I loved anything edible I got when I'd just had DD, my aunt bought me some lovely freezer meals (much better than they sound, think they were from Stocked?) that came in so handy. Snacks were appreciated, anything I could eat with one hand. I think I'd have loved a set of comfy PJs too xx

Absolutely loved it when people brought me home cooked food! Ditto to 'care packages' (that were mostly made up of food 😁)

Nice new PJs
Brownies

Those were my faves 😁

OP, what a lovely idea. People always buy gifts for baby which is lovely, but often forget mum is the one that’s just gone through labour and is currently sleep deprived!! I wish someone would have thought to get something for me - I was in hospital with sepsis with my 2nd too and still only received presents for baby 😂I would put together a care package/pamper hamper for her - So she maybe gets a ‘mini break’ but still in her home so she’s not away from baby. Wine if she drinks, tea or coffee if she doesn’t - Chocolate - then items such as bath soak, bubble bath, hair masks, foot masks, face masks, eye masks, hand cream, tea lights, wax melts, lip balm. I don’t go out much so when I de stress, there’s nothing I like more than a pampering bath, then to get out and light some fresh candles and wax melts - creates a calming atmosphere for me.

It's a long train journey otherwise i would take lots of food for the freezer. Could maybe do a shop whilst there. My DP is going to ask his son if there is anything she would like too. Have already said we will pay for takeaway one eve. We are staying at a hotel & not with them as we normally would. No one needs House guests to deal with alongside a newborn. (We usually stay on sofa bed in living room)

A takeaway sounds lovely. Maybe some babysitting time and treating her to having her hair/nails done or a massage? If she's not up to going out, maybe offering to do things around the house? Getting a shop in sounds generous too, you sound lovely

A massage!
