I know nothing about either of them, but this has just made me quite emotional. Well done, Kevin.

The Leeds event is named in honour of ex-rugby league player Burrow, who has motor neurone disease.

The kiss Kevin gave Rob was lovely.

@Coatedchocrabbits I felt the same. The love his mate has for him was clear, but I think he should have wheeled him over the finish, not carried him.

It was a shock to see just how frail Rob is now 😢. Life is fucking unfair!!

That’s what I thought, he’d pushed all the way round, why did he need to lift him over the line??

According to this from another poster, it was because they wanted to finish the race together.

Based on his interview for bbc breakfast I think Rob wanted to be carried over to ensure that they finished at the exact same time as each other.

I saw the interview and I'm sure they must have agreed privately beforehand.
I thought it was very emotional

Rob, and his family and Kevin are so inspiring.

I'm a rugby league fan and Kev and Robs story goes way back to their teenage years, if you had the privilege of seeing them on the field together you know just how much yesterday meant to both of them and that special band of brothers.

@tuvamoodyson
@NooNooNotSoGreat

having heard a bit more from both of them, it does seem pre planned & what Rob wanted, which is good.

At the time it just looked impromptu & I was shocked at how frail Rob looks and I felt he might have felt it was undignified being carried, but I'm sorry I felt that way as I should have known Kevin would have known better.

A(nother) lesson in engaging my brain before a knee jerk reaction. (Sorry Kevin 💕)

Rob cannot propel himself in the chair. He has no control over it at all. But he can communicate and express his wishes. If that involves getting out of the chair in the arms of his friend then that's fine with me.

He ain't heavy - he's my brother

i hope that link works. It’s to bbc yorkshires Facebook page and it’s Rob expressing his views on the event. For anyone who has any doubt of the intentions I think it’s more than clear it was what he wanted.
