Constipation and Femmeze Vagina Trainer

I've had constipation for years, since the menopause. It's getting worse, have to really push to get anything out, which I know I shouldn't do as I have other health conditions which are affected by doing this. Have tried loads of different laxative type things , nothing seems to help much.

I came across this vagina trainer online recently and am wondering if it's worth getting one.
Has anyone tried this to help with constipation? I've tried vaginal splinting with finger but with limited success. Any advice gratefully received.

no idea about that but some tips on this Drs video. He mentions soluble and insoluble fibre and a study has shown the best treatment to be 2 whole kiwi fruit a day because with the skin you are consuming both types of fibre. I do cut the ends off and the skin is weird but if I eat them quick it’s manageable. Chia seeds are also excellent. There was a lot of videos about ‘internal shower’ recently because a couple of tablespoons of chia seeds mixed in water and drank quickly before they swell apparently helps by morning. I have around 40g of them a day. Some in the morning then a further 25g mixed in a smoothie. If I miss a day I am in trouble! Dates are also really good. 4/5 a day.

This same Dr in the video also recently did a video about “moo when you poo”. Trying to force a movement actually does the opposite to the pelvic floor muscles but if you ‘moo’ (even silently) it opens the PFM or something, it definitely works!

You could ask the Dr if they could prescribe Resolor ( Prucalopride) for you. It’s a long term treatment for chronic constipation but apparently many don’t like prescribing, cost I imagine.

Thank you for this advice. I cannot take Prucalopride due to interactions with meds I take for other health conditions.
I have tried every possible type of food that is alleged to help with constipation without success.

Might be worth listening to the Zoe podcasts on this topic. I have found them helpful. Maybe try some of the diet recommendations on there:

How long have you tried foods for? Iirc the study on kiwi was two a day for two weeks for improvement to be seen, the same for increasing fibre in general. So if you just try different foods for a couple of days and then stop you won’t be benefiting.

Coffee, brisk 20min walk, pint of water? As well as the normal extra fibre in diet etc.
