Face changes through the years

No one ever prepared me for my face changing so much as I age. I expected skin elasticity changes, age spots in time etc just not like the structure of my face??
I'm 37, i'm not talking about wrinkles (although I get crows feet more when I smile compared to in my 20s) but my face has changed so much. It's hard to describe, but the angles that used to 'work' for me in photos, don't work anymore. I don't like any photos of me now because I don't look like myself.

Is this why people get fillers and stuff?

I know what you mean. I'm a similar age and my face looks completely different to 15 years ago. It looks less defined, almost like my chin is melting into my neck despite my weight staying the same. Pretty depressing!

yes this is what fillers are for really, to restore the structure as you lose volume and your bones move and change your face shape as you age

My face looks really different but I can't tell how. It makes sense though. We don't look the same at 5, 12, 18, 25, 32, 44, 50 and beyond.

your bones move and change your face shape

Hi there,
I just happened to see this and wanted to mention an illness called acromegaly. It is caused by excessive growth hormone produced in the pituitary gland.

Acromegaly can cause a wide range of symptoms, which tend to develop very slowly over time.
Early symptoms include:

  • swollen hands and feet – you may notice a change in your ring or shoe size
  • tiredness and difficulty sleeping, and sometimes sleep apnea.
  • gradual changes in your facial features, such as your brow, lower jaw and nose getting larger, or your teeth becoming more widely spaced
  • numbness and weakness in your hands, caused by a compressed nerve.

If you have these symptoms you want to see an endocrinologist and have your IGF1 levels checked. It’s probably not this. Acromegaly is a rare disease. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. It’s worth checking if you have any concerns. The earlier it is caught the more likely it is to be curable!

I decided to pop this up on all the face change threads in case suit helps someone some day.

Dermal fillers lift my neck so no more double chin. Works wonders.I

Time to go again and booked for end of August. Bring it on!

Has anyone had fillers in their temples, if so did it make your face look a bit younger

it is also supposed to lift jowels a bit, did it do that?

also how long did it last and would you get it done again

Do you find that as your face changes over the years you have looked like many of your forbears? I mean grandparents and even great-grandparents?
