Anyone else about to be taken out by hayfever?

I am so stuffed up constantly, sneezing coughing and my face is so swollen. I can’t sleep because of it and my chest at times feels heavy. My eyes are constantly itchy, my skins even started going itchy and I'm clawing away at myself.

This has been going on since end of February.

I’ve always had hayfever since I was a teen but it’s never been this bad before.

I’ve been to the GP and got the prescription tablets, nasal spray and cream for my skin but it’s not touched it and I’m still as bad as ever. I can’t work because of it and have been signed off, I’ve never known anything like it. I’m already on inhalers for asthma which again aren’t helping even with an increased dose.

I’ve been referred to the allergy clinic but been told it’s a long wait. I cannot afford private.

I am a single parent and terrified that this is what will take me out.

I'm showering 3-4 times a day, changing my clothes everyday as a minimum but trying more often (but don't own that many clothes).

I also live right near a river and canal so that won't be helping.

Any tips to get me through? If I could just sleep I might have a chance of getting back to work.

One of my DCs had to get Singulair and prednisone this week after wheezing and coughing for the last fortnight. If the prednisone doesn't work, they'll have to spend time in hospital on a steroid drip, basically being treated as if for pneumonia.

As I've got older my hayfever has morphed more into wheezing and breathlessness. My eyes prickle a bit but nothing like they used to. I still have a dripping nose and itchy face when outside.

I take fexofenadine and piriton as a top up plus a combined inhaler.

Does the injection help with all hayfever symptoms or mainly eyes and nose?

Where can you get this injection, and which allergies does it work for? I take antihistamines year round and have for maybe 15 years, they've been brilliant. But the last 6 weeks have been unbearable. Prescription fexofenadine plus piriton haven't touched the sides. I'm sneezing 400+ times a day, and my skin is raw in places despite eumovate. I've deep cleaned, replaced all bedding and added allergy covers (assumed dust mites).

I'm booked in for a kenalog injection on the 22nd, I really can't wait, it's only £55.
If I'd have thought about it sooner I'd have had it in March

@Blessedbethefruitz request a referral to the allergy clinic 1) for Ige testing and 2) they can give you immunotherapy

I had this treatment and it’s life changing, small amount of what you’re allergic to under your tongue for 3 years to build up your tolerance. Like the milk ladder but for dust mites etc

Your IGE levels have to be over a certain number but sounds like your would be. Push your GP and keep pushing
