Police force HR/operational cops - pregnancy question

Just out of interest are there any HR staff who work for a police force or any operational cops who are pregnant/not long since had babies?

When were you restricted and did you have a say? Or from a HR perspective, does there has to be a restriction as soon as supervision are told even if it's very early and not what the officer wants?

Are you a front line cop - response, neighbourhoods, CID?

If so, you should be given a 'back office' role as soon a possible. You can still stay on the shift, but just not operational.

Not a police officer, but a lot of experience of health and safety/risk assessment.

The force will have a policy that is likely to exclude pregnant women from frontline duty as soon as they are notified that the officer is pregnant. They wouldn't want the health of the mother or baby put at unnecessary risk due to the nature of the job.

Is there a possibility of a 'half way' solution, ie lower risk frontline work like taking statements from burglary victims rather than patrolling the high street chasing after drug dealers? Or is it all or nothing?

They probably wont risk any interaction with the public what so ever as you never know what might happen.

Colleague of mine was attacked by a victim out of the blue.

They will probably just find a back office role - case files, phone work etc etc
