Who's the most overrated celebrity, to you?

I will say it. Jamie Oliver can't cook.

Sarah Cox and Lauren Laverne

KimberleyClark · 12/05/2023 10:15

Fiona Bruce

Just because she does the deep voice combined with the cold, aloof manner I think a certain kind of bloke gets off on her. But she's boring as fuck and comes across like a swotty undergraduate who runs the classics society. So why does she get to front so many shows?

Then there’s her problematic view that breaking your wife’s nose isn’t domestic abuse if you only do it once.

Basically all of them. I don’t understand celebrity. They are just ordinary people.

Agree with this. Probably less than 1% have an amazing talent worth talking about.
I suspect most of the rest are narcissistic, egotistical, possibly psycho or at least annoyingly attention seeking and incredibly boring.

LadyEloise1 · 12/05/2023 10:46

Ant and Dec, though Dec marginally less so.
Keith Lemon.

Mrsjayy · 12/05/2023 11:04

Leigh Francis ( Keith Lemon) used to be the darling of Itv he was everywhere and presenters would be howling laughing at him I was always confused at what the joke was..

Now he's just on his own programme so thankfully not seen him in a while.

Doesanyoneelsespendagespickingausername · 12/05/2023 12:19

And her repulsive husband

SVRT19674 · 12/05/2023 12:39

Nicholas Cage, sorry I hate the guy, he irritates me beyond any other.
Jennifer Aniston
That idiot Jim Carrey
The Kardashians and any other supposed influencer
Victoria Beckham and her bland husband
Tom Cruise...

DYLAN MULANEY.

Taylor Swift / Beyoncé / Adele for artists.

Millie Bobby Brown. I have no issues with women who command to be heard but there is a difference between that and someone who just wants to be the loudest in the room - going off interviews.

Alison Hammond.

I am going to cut Millie Bobby Brown some slack because she is 19. A lot of people are complete idiots at that age (myself included). She'll grow out of it.

Dacadactyl · 12/05/2023 13:10

Clare Balding is awful IMO. Cannot stand her.

Also, James Corden and Idris Elba.

Dontthinkthrice · 12/05/2023 13:16

Amanda Holden

Isoqueen · 12/05/2023 13:28

Agree with Simon Cowell, irritating man. Also, I have never liked Paul McCartney even when he was younger.

dropthevipers · 12/05/2023 13:34

That bloody Mother Teresa. A totally fake act-bet she was a right cow in reality.

Peppermaynt · 12/05/2023 14:24

Adam Sandler. Every single of the movie (the ones I've watched) he's a lead character is super cringy, boring and unfunny. All the same thing as well.
But my husband loves him so he's also on the telly.

Agree with everyone who said Ant and Dec. In the 90s I found them quite funny- I had fond memories of them as LJ and Duncan from Byker Grove and on TV they just came across as a couple of young lads making silly jokes and I was young and daft myself Now they just seem like the odd middle aged bloke at work who gets annoyed when people don't laugh at his jokes and keeps trying to impress the young 'uns and go on their nights out.

If you google her, there are a lot of stories about her not being very nice and not really doing as much good as people thought.

Quite. That's why I posted that-not the saint she was portrayed by a long chalk.

Ooh I like this thread:

Taylor Swift
Jennifer Lawrence
James Corden
Henry Cavill

Doesanyoneelsespendagespickingausername · 12/05/2023 16:30

They’re both real life “David Brents”!

I may have a very unsophisticated sense of humour, but that made me literally laugh out loud!
