Do you still use a high street travel agent?

I need to book a short family trip but am finding the whole process of booking flights, hotel, travel insurance a nightmare

How much extra would I pay to get a travel agent to do it for me?

At least double, probably more.

What country do you need to get to?

I used one of the fb travel agents. She came recommended and price matched the package price with jet2. I can send you her page name if you want it, not sure if I'm allowed to just post it on here.

I’ve used Trailfinders for longer and complicated trips with visas etc, but no idea how much more it cost and was happy to pay anyway for the convenience. They were great.

Don’t most people have travel insurance included with bank accounts etc, unless you need something really specialist?

I haven't for years. But I do use online specific companies like Inside Asia, Explore and Exodus. For all smaller holidays, I just book flights and accommodation myself. It's really easy online.

  • Put dates and price range into Booking.com or airbnb and skyscanner.
  • Check the options you like the look of on a map to ensure the accommodation is near the things you want to visit.
  • Ensure the host/hotel has trustworthy reviews.
  • Then book.

Try dial a flight. They're excellent and price match

We used Trailfinders for a long and complicated trip recently. They were excellent and worth every penny for the security it gave us. It was a LOT of extra pennies, though.

For a short and simple trip like yours I'd just make myself a nice cuppa, write a list of the things I needed to do, and sit down and do it slowly.

It's impossible to say.

There's plenty of smaller independent travel agents, and Hayes travel, that sell package holidays from Jet2holidays cheaper than going direct.

It really depends where you are going, when and how flexible you are about which hotel etc.

OP, have you also looked at Travel Republic and On The Beach if you're looking for a traditional 'holiday' destination? They often make the flight and hotel part easier.

But what you are looking for shouldn't be difficult, are you able to say what flights you need and where you are going and people might be able to help?
