Hello mumsnetters.
Impending DC2, sex unknown. This will be our last. Both IVF children and very grateful for them.

DD I couldn't breastfeed. I wanted to but I wasn't long out of cancer and was on a lot of medication which wasn't safe to breastfeed. When I say wasn't safe, there's no evidence either way. So she was bottlefed from the off. I had a LOT of milk and it made me so sad to waste / make it all dry up. I don't know if it will be the same with DC2 I know every baby and pregnancy is different in regards to supply. But know im off most of the medications I would really like to try and breastfeed. Or at least combi feed. Expressing doesnt interest me so if we did combi feed it'll be with formula. But as I knew I had to bottlefeed last time i know absolutely NOTHING about breastfeeding so hit me up with your best tips!

Secondly, our shortlist. Last name Carter.
Boys:
Fletcher James
Morgan James

Girls:
Bonnie Alice
Noa Grace
Eden Grace

Thank you!

And by the way - you might not need nipple cream or shields! I never had sore or cracked nipples from feeding two babies. I guess I have naturally rubbery greasy nips :)

One of the problems with BF is it's so individual, the problems you might have are not universal and it's not like follow steps 1-5 and you'll be fine - it's an intimate physical thing but also highly individual, a bit like orgasm or sleep! Everyone might follow roughly the same pattern but there's lots of variation too.

Of your girls name - Noa

I'm afraid I don't like either of your boys names - they're both surnames for me.

When I breastfed it was recommended that you put whisked egg white on your nipples to prevent soreness. I imagine that's not encouraged these days 😁

Please do take note of the advice to get the baby checked for tongue-tie, however. A friend had endless difficulty feeding her first because his slight tongue tie wasn't discovered for months. Second baby - no tongue-tie and the feeding went like a dream right from the start.

@Indoorcatmum

Noa Everly Carter is absolutely GORGEOUS.

Would never have thought of that. I've absolutely fallen in love with it!

I've just text DH and I bloody hope he loves it too as I would happily settle on that!

Eeeek!

My darling kitten is currently in surgery and thinking of fun names for you has been a great distraction.

I hope your DH loves it because I think Noa Everly Carter would be an a durable name for a little girl, but also very pretty, elegant and unique for an adult :)

Fingers crossed!
