I don't want to fry my fresh chicken or fish, can I oven cook it?

Most packaging only allows instruction for shallow frying, and I don't get along with cooking oil. I tend to buy fresh chicken from M&S or Tesco sea bass, and would love to put them in the oven or grill, is this possible?

There used to be an option on the label to oven cook chicken, but no idea why it's gone. I used to season then pop in oven for 30 mins for chicken breast chunks. Can I still cook it this way if the label doesn't advise it?

Yes it should be fine to oven or grill

Yes of course you can do the chicken in the oven.

You can fry the sea bass in butter instead of oil if you like - delicious.

Yes, just cut into the biggest piece of chicken or the thickest part of the fish when you think it's done to check it's cooked all the way through.

Yes of course you can oven cook, just pop it on a tray in the oven.

Dd doesn't want to use any oil so she bakes a lot of chicken breasts and pieces. We just check that it's hit 75 degrees to be cooked with a thermometer.

Works perfectly well. And she sometimes does fish that way too.

I put fish in the oven wrapped in a parcel of tin foil. Stops it drying out.

Thanks everyone!
I have obviously done it previously and for certain recipes but only recently noticed they dont offer it on the pack instructions now. Wondered if there was a reason.

I love the taste cooked in butter but for some reason I always have an IBS reaction to anything fried. It's a shame as I love fried eggs (have to boil or poach)!
