I bet I can win for the worst start to bank holiday Monday

Trying to recover from a hideous start to our bank holiday Monday.

Child discovered they had lost an item in the park they were at yesterday. Tracked it and searched at 11pm. No luck and dark so decided to go first thing thus morning. Head there at 6am with the dog, child still in bed but me and partner thought it was worth tracking the route and trying to get it to ping/play sound.

We were there about and hour and spread out, dog off lead. Partner rushes into a bush, presume for a wee. Comes out and shouts he needs to go home. Shout dog who has now wondered into the same buses. Takes ages to recall (probably a minute or two but felt ages!) I’m quite a bit away and dog comes running over, covered in runny poo all over their face!!!!!! Turns out partner had an incident and clearly the dog who has a habit of investigating poo has eaten/rubbed themselves in it.

I am aware it can be dangerous and keeping an eye on the dog but WTAF! Had to remove clothes to wipe dog, use wet wipes, drove home, bath dog, partner undressed at the back door which luckily leads into a utility room so clothes straight in the wash then I clean everywhere. I am scarred for life.

anyone else had a disaster?

Spent last night from 3am in A&E with Dd2 (18) waiting on a bed for a scan tomorrow. They don't do MRI on a bank holiday. Confused

First AS level exam tomorrow.

Anybody know what happens in this instance?

I have covid and gave up trying to sleep at 1am because I couldn't stop coughing. Went and curled up on sofa, as was able to prop myself up better and finally fell asleep only to be woken by DH a couple of hours later asking why I was sleeping on the sofa.

Told DH he can do all the running around today for the various kids activities (basically means playing taxi to teenagers) and then hunt me out some cough medicine.

Aww some of these are both funny and sad. I was looking for some condolences to a rubbish morning and people to have a laugh! For those on the serious side I hope it all works out and I hope this thread as helped to share.

I was just replaying the moment. When he was in the bush I did think, surely he can’t be as he was in a while and thought yep he is doing a number 2. When he emerged I thought this is a low moment in our relationship 🤣. But then the dog comes over and at first I felt relief as I thought lead on and we can go.l and put this episode behind us never to talk about again. That relief soon turned to horror seeing her face and it all over her eyebrows and head, pure horror!!

On another positive note I’ve just mopped where nobody’s been so the house is getting a good clean (I’ll ignore the fact I cleaned Saturday and Sunday)

Doesn't sound much but I am recovering a breakdown and a horrendous viral infection.... due to my MH I take strong sedatives along with other meds. 5am I have someone knocking at the door for ages, I get panicked thinking something has happened...... its my neighbour asking if I had a spare cigarette 😭 said oh thank goodness I've been knocking for 20mins now and thought I wouldn't get one. I closed the door in their face! 5am is bad enough but for 20 mins and they know my situation

Valentine's Day two years ago. DS comes into my room and wakes me up at 06:30am. He tries to hand me something. I'm very short sighted so I automatically reached out for whatever it was and brought it close in to my face so I can see what it is.

It's a cat turd on a coaster.

Not a normal cat turd either, but a Maine Coon sized cat turd. A runny Maine Coon sized cat turd. Which is now oozing it's way off the coaster.

I spent my Valentines morning wrestling a pissed off Maine Coon into the shower and washing shit out of her super long arse and leg hair.

At least that was animal shit though, and no one ate any of it. Envy

@LadyFlumpalot I hesitate to ask you to relive the pain, but could you clarify the coaster………scooped up by child or terrific aimm by cat

From what I could gather, and the evidence in the living room - cat went to the loo in her litter box. Most of the poo got stuck in her fluffy pantaloons (very long haired cat) and she had jumped up on the table and sat on a coaster whereby the turd transferred itself. This was what was brought to me by my darling child.

I am so so sorry, but I am laughing a lot at that description!

Report it to her school as extenuating circumstances?
