'Funfair' for a 4 year old

Help please!

My LO is 4 soon and for her birthday she's asked to go to a funfair. Her birthday is on a Monday so I'm thinking a theme park is the obvious solution. We're in South Worcestershire and fairly new to the area and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, preferably less than an hours drive but can be flexible if not.

Drayton manor is open during the week term time. They do an adult and toddler ticket for these days. It looks like in may it's zoo only on Mondays/Tuesdays but open Wednesday - Friday and then 5 days a week in June.

I did think about the toddler ticket because it's £25 I think, isn't it? That would have been a welcome bonus!

I might have to give her another day off before the school holidays start!

I took DS a few times before he started school. It was something like £25, total bargain.

Crealy is another good one for little ones. It's in Exeter though so not sure if a bit far to go.

Or Legoland. I think they also do adult and toddler tickets so might also be open during term time weeks.

@WhyDoesItAlways Crealy isn't open on the day but LegoLand is. I'll add it to the options list as it's just under two hours but I'm short on choice here, thank you!

Not sure if it has rides but is Warwick castle close enough (even if not for this time it may be another to add to your list)

I don't think it has rides but I'll double check as it's definitely something I want to do - maybe at Christmas time although all the activities at Christmas get very expensive!

It's about an hour but the rides are pretty basic. The last time we went it was very run down too, unfortunately. It's great for their imagination and has all the fairytales though so definitely something to consider

Oh that is a shame it looks so cute

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 06/05/2023 20:04

gullivers in Derbyshire is ok, but I'd pick CBeebies land over that.

What about twin lakes melton Mowbray! So many dinky rides inside and out. And on a term day yoh pretty much walk on and off them straight away.

LeoEisor · 06/05/2023 20:08

I know it's far but chessington world of adventure is amazing for that age! My daughter is 4. So much for them to do, great rides for them. She even got to ride the vampire on Thursday as she's quite tall for her age. I hope she has a great time whatever you do.

Twin Lakes is a great shout, thank you! Just checked and they're open that day and only 90 minutes away!

I was there Tuesday.

Just so you know. They only have staff in each area on quiet days. So all the rides are open even if it looks like no one is on them, you just go tell the operator and he will open it for you straight away.

also they have lambs in, we managed to bottle feed the lambs twice. First session is at 11am.

food is expensive but tons of places to eat a picnic too. We always take food with us. :)

Peppa Pig world is very good

Octaviathethird · 07/05/2023 12:22

How about Brean theme park? It doesn't have any big rides but is fine for a 4 year old, my little girl loves it there! Weston pier probably won't be much good because of the height restrictions, my 4 year old can only go on the ghost train, the helter skelter and the house of fun.

GoodChat · 15/05/2023 20:29

@ZeroFucksGivenToday we went with Twin Lakes. It was absolutely outstanding. Thank you so, so much!

@GoodChat Awwww brilliant. So glad it worked out.
we used to have joint passes for there and wheelgate and I can't tell you how many times I've been.

If it's not zillions of miles, wait until Black Friday. The annual passes are really cheap.

what did she enjoy the most?

If it was closer we'd absolutely get annual passes but it was about 90 minutes there and 2 hours home

She loved the pirate ship and the rum runner ride.

We went on the run runner loads and the operator left it running for about 3x the length of the normal ride the last time we went on it as he knew we were going home after it, bless him.

I couldn't believe how friendly all of the staff there were
