Hi! Is Thomas land worth the trip? Is it good? Lots to do? Easy to get around? Any hints and tips to get the most out of the day? Thank you in advance.

How old is your child/children?

Happycroc · 06/05/2023 16:40

We went with our 2 year old and 6 year old, neither are Thomas fans but they both loved it. The rides are great as I think there was only one which the 2 year old was too small for. They both were completely absorbed by the “show” which was done every hour or so. Drayton manor also has a zoo and other rides. The pizza was good and reasonably priced. We went in November which meant that tickets to the park were cheaper but the “big ride” area was closed. Definitely will go back at some stage.

How old are the children?
Mine enjoyed Thomas Land, didn't like the zoo very old cages that need upgrading

My kids loved it when they were younger. Don’t discount the rest of Drayton Manor Park , lots of good rides for kids all over the park. If possible, go on a week day in term time. The queues , especially for Troublesome Trucks, can get long on busy days.

Great for 3-10 I'd say. Rides are good fun and the Thomasland bit is compact and easy to get around.

ellenpartridge · 06/05/2023 16:50

Its good! My kids loved it aged 1 and 5

My kids loved it when they were younger and the wider park is ok for older kids too. It’s no Alton towers but it’s alright. Avoid the zoo unless you want to feel sad for the rest of the day. But otherwise it’s a good day out

We went on a weekday term time last year when our little boy had just turned 3 had a great day. Never queued for anything, there was only one ride he didn't like. Lots going on. The car park is nice and close to the entrance so no long walks and you can get the train to the zoo and back. There is a lovely play area in the zoo and a dinosaur park too which our little one loved.

Thank you so much everyone! It will be for my daughters 5th birthday in June. We will be going midweek and in term time so hopefully it’s not as busy

5 is the perfect age, we live 20 minutes from there and had season passes when the kids were young.

It's got plenty of rides but in a small area so not much walking, you can catch the train to the other side of the park where there's a nice playground then walk back through the zoo.

Mine are now 8 and 10 and we went last Wednesday but only spent the day in the main park, there were no queues at all, you could stay on the rides if you liked.

There are a few rides outside of Thomas Land too for her to go on too, you can check the height guide online.

Consider taking a picnic though, I bought myself a chicken burger meal and my two daughters had a chicken nugget meal and it came to £45.35!

autienotnaughtym · 06/05/2023 20:38

It's great for under ten's lovely's place

caringcarer · 06/05/2023 21:54

I love 15 minutes away too my 2 dgs who were 5 and 3 when they went and both obsessive Thomas fans both loved it. Take a picnic as food is expensive there. The little train goes to the zoo. You can take a photo of your child standing next to model Thomas trains. I think if you book online it is cheaper than paying on the day.

Soapyspuds · 11/05/2023 23:39

I see there is an adult and toddler (under 4) ticket for £29

How closely do they check the childs age on arrival for these tickets? It appears that an adult with a 4 year old will cost £60. Correct me if I am wrong.

Asking for a friend 😚

SheilaFentiman · 11/05/2023 23:41

Yes, great for. A 5 year old
