Hello, we really need to bite the bullet and get a new car. We will be buying 2nd hand, in the 12k - 16k range.

Have 2 kids, want something bigger than what we currently have (ancient kia ceed). Would like a plug in hybrid but the mitsubishi outlander is massive, and there isn't much else in our price range at the size we want.

So looking petrol instead. Any views on what's better between the sportage, tuscon and qashqai? Our town is FULL of qashqai so I guess is pretty reliable?

Reliability is key. Reverse parking sensors/screen would be good. Mostly drive fairly locally, occasionally on motorways. Want it to last quite a long time .

Thanks!

We were looking at the cars you mentioned as potentials when we replaced ours last year. In the end we went for a Peugeot 3008.

The boot is bigger than the Sportage or the Tucson which what we were specifically after. We have a dog and have partitioned off 1/3rd of the boot for her but we still have a decent amount of boot space for luggage etc.

I love it. Has loads of features. Parking sensors, cameras all round etc etc. Fab to drive and really spacious inside. Might be worth a look.

Qashqai. Smashing car. We've previously had a Tucson and also a shortage but the Nissan beats them hands down for us. Can't bear the Dacia ranges
