absolutely counter intuitive, cant find programmes you have started, cant continue programmes you starter earlier, no clarity, no summaries visible a lot of the time

It is totally rubbish, isnt it

How they managed to take ITV hub and make it worse is a mystery. It is quite an achievement.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/05/2023 00:28

A massive pile of shite, yes.

TheOGCCL · 06/05/2023 00:33

Cant get it on my 8 year old Samsung, still perfect in all other ways. Something to do with the software. Found that v odd as the Hub was ok.

Fortunately they seem to put everything on the main ITV too.

bluedomino · 06/05/2023 01:15

Anyone remember ITVdigital? That was a truly awful subscription service. ITV are just a bit useless.

CelerEtAudax · 06/05/2023 01:28

Glad to know I'm not alone in thinking it's shite!

QueenSmartypants · 06/05/2023 01:52

Itv hub was equally poor imo.

I can't play itvx on safari though- for some reason it causes the processor to go into overdrive. Have to switch to a Firefox browser.

Namechanger355 · 06/05/2023 02:02

Is it worse than all4

Nat6999 · 06/05/2023 02:08

If you have Sky, just search programmes on their catch up or go through Freeview. Most drama stuff goes straight to Britbox.

Pemba · 06/05/2023 02:25

The software is clunky yes, tries to start you on the last episode of something as pps have said.

The content is pretty good though, especially if you subscribe to ITVx Premium. Lots of programmes and films. I used to have Britbox and now all their content is included on ITVx. They also include Studio Canal +, I think it is, (which is also available as a pay channel on Amazon) , again lots of films. It's also nice to see everything ad free. I've got it on a deal, £3.99 a month, think that's until the end of the year. Better value than Now TV, for example.

yoshiblue · 06/05/2023 04:35

I know someone who worked in the software development team. Project sounded like a car crash, pushed to launch it before it was ready! Big bang development launch which you should never do!

He's left and much happier. Wouldn't surprise me if they are struggling to find developers to work on it. So much demand for software engineers that you can pick easier work than fixing all its problems!

Omg yes, total crap.
I've tried to watch something on it twice and gave up, it's absolutely rubbish.

BlackberrySky · 06/05/2023 04:44

I thought it was just mine that was crap, so I am pleased I'm not alone! I don't even think of it as available it's so useless. So if I come across something where I have missed the first couple of episodes, I just write it off and watch the BBC.

Buffypaws · 06/05/2023 04:45

Yes it’s absolute shit. Hate it with a passion. Unfortunately it’s the only route to classic Corrie.

I would say it is on par with All4. When All4 goes to adverts it plays the next episode on top of the advert so you are watching the advert but hearing the next episode. No matter how many times you log out and log back in it continues. I wonder if the glitches are a way to get people to pay for the premium service? Does anyone pay for premium ITVX and all4 and have problems?
I hate the licence fee but can’t fault iPlayer so am starting to appreciate it more.

Use74074345 · 06/05/2023 05:33

Like PP I try to go through Sky to watch catch up as it kindly gets rid of the ads on a lot of programmes, ITV catch up through Sky seems to have a lot less content since it became ITVX though. I am even watching Malpractice weekly because ITVX is so dire.

MintJulia · 06/05/2023 05:41

Complete and utter rubbish. Thank God for the BBC.

Al991 · 06/05/2023 05:44

So pleased this thread exists this drives me bonkers

BusySittingDown · 06/05/2023 05:52

OMG, it's absolute dog shit!

Yes, you can never find a programme to continue watching once you've started it. Also, the times that I have "resumed programmes" the advert break before the programme will play has been about 10 minutes long! I can't fast forward on the app.

On live Tv it always buffers during the ad break and I have to click off the app and restart. It doesn't have an effect on the actual programme I am viewing as it's only the adverts but it's so annoying!

meltingmyhead · 06/05/2023 05:57

Every other channel manages it so I don't know why itv can't! Maybe they should spend less time advertising if everywhere and more making it actually work.

All4 is shockingly bad.

so glad it is not just me being thick

Yep I agree, premium sign up means you subscribe to ad free old series. What you used to see on the opening screen completely disappears.
total junk
look at other subscription services before claiming to be worth £ 60 pa.

JenniferBooth · 05/07/2023 20:40

I really want to watch The Effects Of Lying. But im not sure its worth the battle with ITVX to do so

redspottedmug · 05/07/2023 20:52

I can't cast it to Google Chromecast. Grrr.
