What do you do with your DC's old stained but functional clothes?

I'm just going through the wardrobes and sorting out bits for giving away, selling or binning. Obviously things with actual damage get thrown away, or used as cleaning rags! But there seem to be numerous things with just small marks on - paint spots, grass stains, pasta sauce(!)
It seems a shame to bin them but I can't really give them away. What do you do with them?

I'd put them in a clothing recycling bank. Supermarkets often have some in the carpark.

I put them in a clothing bin (or is it clothing bank). There’s a Savaltion Army one in the supermarket carpark near me.

Our local hospice charity shop takes things like that as rags as they get some money for them.

Bag marked ‘rags’ to charity shop or clothes bank.

We give them away to friends who use them as nursery clothes.

Our local Fire Station also have a dedicated clothing bank outside to raise money for a Firefighters' charity.

I'm actually surprised that people think grass stains on clothes makes them rags!

I've happily used things given to me with small spot stains on and don't think twice about passing stuff like that on.

Spares for nursery if there that age nursery goes through a lot of spare clothes and most parents only provide 1 spares or a lot provide no spares

Any clothing, bedding, towels that are not good enough to be sold can be donated to most charities for textile recycling. I give all mine to my local hospice shop who sell them on by weight for recycling; they do the same for old shoes. If you can't get to a charity shop, then the use clothing banks in supermarket car parks, or some local councils will take small bags for textile recycling on bin recycling weeks, just check their website.

No need to put any old clothing etc in the normal household waste bin as they can all be recycled.

I give mine to a friend who has a garden so her DC don't wreck their good clothes when they go out to play!

I used to keep them for messy play, painting or mud pies, etc.
