Exceptions privacy on Facebook

I attended a family event last weekend. We are quite a fractured family although I am friendly with both sides (for ease, I will call the sides A and B). The invites to the event included the members of side A. The other side of the family, side B, were not invited. (Side B would equally hold their own event to which there would be no invites for side A.) As I said, I get on with both sides, don’t take sides and there is never animosity in that I see everyone.

Back to the event last weekend. I posted some pictures on FB and before I pressed “post”, I did the privacy edit where you make it available to all of your friends to see except X and Y. Thus making it unavailable to see by the family members from side B.

I’ve logged on today and noticed that one of the individuals who I blocked from seeing the post has liked a couple of pictures.

How can they see the pictures?

They only have one profile.

I definitely blocked them.

A few people liked a particular photo but none of them were mutual friends (in case that makes a difference although I didn’t think it would - if they are blocked from a post, they are blocked from a post aren’t they?).

Can someone please explain why they can see the post/picture? Thank you.

Sounds like a FB glitch then if they definitely only have one profile and you've blocked it.
