What do you use it for? So far I use it as a creamy pasta sauce and with baked potato.
I'm not keen on smoked salmon.

Looking for other ideas!

I make my own pesto with it. Cashews, cream
Cheese, spinach and Parmesan.

On crumpets with far too much butter

ThreeRingCircus · 30/04/2023 19:56

Toast a plain bagel and spread on sweet chilli jam then top with a thick layer of cream cheese. It's absolutely amazing.

You can also do a savoury cream tea with a plain or cheese scone then Philadelphia and chilli jam rather than clotted cream and fruit jam.

Spread it on Salt and vinegar rice cakes. Yum.

When DDog was alive I'd spread it liberally on slices of ham and wrap his tablets in it. Had to be proper, branded, full fat Philadelphia though, because, yes, he could tell the difference 🤣

Cream cheese mixed with a bit of pepper and garlic powder as a spread for cucumber sandwiches.

I used it today as part of the sauce (along with chives, chicken stock and leeks) on pork steaks, with crushed new potatoes and veggies. Delish.

@SinisterKnitter beat me to it, Dishoom bacon naan with bacon and sweet chilli sauce in a ready made naan (cheat version).

I use GF flatbreads and mango chutney in mine. So good 😋

Today I made some little filo tarts. Couple of squares of filo pastry in a cupcake tin, a couple of raspberries and some cream cheese mixed with a little vanilla, then another sheet of filo pastry. Dust in a little icing sugar, lovely!

On a cheese scone with chilli jam or onion chutney.

Scooped into tray bakes- anything with smoked paprika is delicious

Stirred into risotto to make it extra creamy

In cream soups

Blueberrycreampie · 30/04/2023 20:46

Half a small baguette spread liberally with Philly and Golden Wonder Smoky Bacon Crisps on top. It's scrumptious!

AliMonkey · 30/04/2023 20:50

Use own brand equivalent. Favourite is mix with some fresh or dried herbs and stuff into middle of chicken breast then bake on pile of roasting veg. Or use in a quick tart - bought puff pastry, then layer of cream cheese, scatter with whatever you want eg mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, chorizo, then bake.

TwoMonthsOff · 30/04/2023 20:53

It’s nice if you make quesadilla or tex mex style wraps as it’s quite ‘sour creamy’ and offsets the spices/jalapeños and of course complements the cheese

CornedBeef451 · 30/04/2023 20:59

I use it to make smoked mackerel pate or a cheesecake.

I love Philly on granary with cucumber slices, to me it's a proper summer sandwich. I am in good company, apparently it was a favourite of the late Queen!

ISpyCobraKai · 30/04/2023 21:04

My favourite pasta sauce, spinach, blue cheese, garlic and cream cheese.
I don't use actual philadelphia, as it's so expensive, I use the supermarket value brand.

I love smoked mackerel pate in a baked sweet potato.

Topbird29 · 30/04/2023 21:20

Use it to thicken a leek and potato soup.
Also nice stuffed into peppedew peppers (in a jar).
If making a cheesecake I'd use it.
On its on on original pringles...or good salty ready salted crisps

PlainJanePerfect · 30/04/2023 21:21

Go vintage and make a cheese ball 😆

Best cake ever.

bellac11 · 30/04/2023 18:46

I never buy philadelphia, its got rubbish in it, but own brand is completely pure (most own brands anyway)

And Ive swapped to ricotta anyway as I find cream cheese too rich

@bellac11 , what own brand is good, please?

Thanks!

Pop a few blobs on a pizza before cooking. Delicious

Appalonia · 30/04/2023 22:13

Makes a yummy dessert mixed with cocoa powder, vanilla essence and sugar or sweetener. Nice with strawberries..

1stWorldProblems · 30/04/2023 22:17

Mix with double cream, condensed milk and the juice & zest of 2 lemons. Amazing cheesecake top (with Digestives & butter base.) Yummy.

Am another fan of it with Marmite on toast.

On top of salmon in the oven with breadcrumbs on top nom nom
