Chicken pox help

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can help with the itching for a 8 year old? Tried all the creams and lotions but they don't actually help really. Oat bath was good while they are in it but as soon as they get out they complain of dry skin and itchy again. Please hit me with anything that will stop it long enough so they can sleep 🙏🙏🙏

Piriton the antihistamine is said to be good for chicken pox itching - it is also noted on the packet for being so.

Thank you. Strangely did not think of that. Will pick some up tomorrow.

Head and shoulders original shampoo in the bath, our gp recommended it, and virasoothe gel, that helped with the irritation

Also definitely piriton, should take the edge off it

Poxclin mousse is an absolute game changer for itching. DD was hysterical and I was climbing the walls, it works in seconds. Virasoothe gel dotted and rubbed in on each one frequently prevents scarring. No Nurofen or any kind of ibuprofen at all, can make it severely worse.

Thank you for all your suggestions. Have tried the gel and that does not seem to work but will hunt out the moose. He gets so upset and frustrated with the itching.
