When did people start using professional sound systems in their gardens?!

Maybe it's since lockdown. Maybe it's because it's cheaper to party at home rather than go out.

Playing music in the garden used to mean Alexa or a small Bluetooth speaker etc. Yes it might annoy your immediately neighbours but the next street couldn't hear it.

When did it become mammoth speakers and DJ style turntables?! That can be heard three streets away?

It's a bit like deciding to run a bar from your home.

Is this actually a thing? How awful. Such selfish people about.
I don’t even want to hear someone’s music on their Alexa if I’m trying to enjoy my garden.

Both our neighbours have TVs in their gardens. Hate it.

It seems to be going with the trend for garden furniture. I love my garden and my lounger but I do not understand the super expensive garden sofa - which surely only lasts a year or two? - and at the point of an outside rug I am completely baffled

LuciferRising That would drive me nuts. I don't mind most music but listening to game shows or babbling talking heads really annoys me.

I had a neighbour who did car repairs (well it sounded like car repairs) while listening to mariachi music. I got to quite like that. I don't mind children playing, dogs barking, people talking to each other in real life, or most music, but inane radio chat really triggers my mysophonia, and listening to someone else's taste in TV would be truly annoying. DH binge watches episode after episode of Australians digging holes in the outback. Them and bloody Drew Pritchard. If that showed up in the garden I'd give them the 1812 Overture at full blast.
