Dc is 10 and I'm thinking of taking them to kidszania and was wondering if I need to purchase an adult ticket? Or I can wait in a cafe or somewhere whilst they play?

They can go in by themselves if they are over 8 years old so you can go shopping in Westfield. I think it's a 4 hour timed slot for the ticket so I would make sure they have a drink/snack on them whilst in there

Might be too old at 10

Sunflowers80 · 28/04/2023 22:37

Ok thanks

If you can book the last session of the day when most of the tiny tots will have gone home. My DD was 9 when I took her and its not likely any sort of play area we'd been to before. I found she was very sweet and kept letting the toddler go in front but that meant she was missing out on her turn.

If they haven't been before I'd go with them until they are comfortable with how it works and then buy a coffee and sit in one of the grown up rooms with sofa, TVs and iPads.

Do you think? It says up to 14. Been promising for ages to be fair and feel bad for leaving it lol 😆 always other stuff to do.

They used to give you a buzzer thing so if they needed to contact you when you were shopping they could.

10 is definitely not too old. Kidzania is brilliant! My teenagers always get wistful about it when we're in Westfield 😁

Inmyownlittlecorner · 28/04/2023 22:42

I've been a couple of times & left them to get on with it while I go shopping. We normally go with friends so they have someone to hang out with but they actually separate once they get in & only see each other in passing!
DD1 is 13 & would absolutely go again if I offered.

Singleandproud · 28/04/2023 22:42

It's not that your DC are too old, they are the perfect age, in terms of being linked to careers learning about engineering and sustainable fashion etc. it's that there are so many toddlers and very young (who I'm sure get their own benefits from it) that make it seem like it's for little ones.

Icamehomelikeastone · 28/04/2023 22:59

10 is a great age for kidzania. We have an annual pass although not used it for 6 months and will not be renewing. The problem is there's so many little ones and parents moaning they can't go into the "work places" with their dc etc. Oh and so many birthday parties where the kids are unruly and the parents are doing nothing about it. Also I get the feeling the staff are over worked and under paid, they are all teens themselves. There's often bits of it closed or not working. It is very overpriced for what it is.

LittleBearPad · 28/04/2023 23:06

Hell on earth - I had to promise my two we would never go again.

ItsRainingTacos79 · 28/04/2023 23:32

It has gone downhill significantly since it first opened. DS10 finds it boring now and doesn't want to accompany younger sibling in there. And it doesn't help that so many of the activities are always closed.

Unicorn2022 · 28/04/2023 23:35

It's an ok age but it would probably be a bit lonely and boring for a child wandering round doing all the activities on their own
