To ask why anti vaxxers feel the need to constantly preach?

Why?

If you don't want to vaccinate then don't. If you think it's a conspiracy go ahead but why do they feel the need to repeatedly shout it from the rooftops?

Some people need something in their lives to get upset and paranoid about.

Verigio · 27/04/2023 23:59

I think this about all conspiracy theories tbh. A friend dated a guy once who was a flat earther. Mid rant I just went ‘so what? Let’s say if it is? Why does it matter? How does it affect you?’ He went slack jawed for a moment, just didn’t have an answer, went back to ranting about why it was ‘true’.

The reason they enjoy these things is because it makes them feel important and clever and powerful to have ‘superior knowledge.’ They can only feel this way if they impart this ‘knowledge’ to other people, hence why they won’t shut up about it. There’s a reason why they don’t tend to have a lot else going on.

Mumoftwoinprimary · 28/04/2023 00:03

It’s a very illogical thing to do. The best situation for an anti vaxxer is to not vaccinate your child but everyone else vaccinated their kids and so protects your child from the diseases.

XenoBitch · 28/04/2023 00:04

They feel strongly about it. Doesn't mean they are right.

MeinKraft · 28/04/2023 00:17

Because they (as in, the ones who spout off about it) feel superior to the rest of us. We are all 'sheeple' and have vastly inferior critical thinking skills, in their minds.

universityhelp · 28/04/2023 00:28

Do you mean antivaxxers in general or people who are against the covid vaccine? Because I haven't found people who are generally anti vaccination to constantly preach, they seem to keep their opinions to themselves in the main unless pressed on it.
If it's about the covid vaccine, I have noticed some are very outspoken about it, I think it comes from a position of genuinely thinking it is dangerous and trying to warn other people.

nationallampoons · 28/04/2023 00:28

I would say the same goes for those who are pro vaccine.

Can you show me where Pro vaxxers constantly post, shout, make up bogus websites in order to force anti vaxxers to vaccinate?

I mean in general. Covid included though.

I kind of understand the fear of it being a new vaccine but the person I'm referring to is a prolific anti vaxxer

I think you're all right Re superior knowledge.

I was told by the same person that I have autism as my mother vaccinated me as a child.

I just don't understand why theh feel the need to repeat themselves to anyone who will listen although like pp said the logical thing would be for them to just not vaccinate but they aren't logical.

Yea it’s weird . A family member of ours never got the covid vaccines . He was against it . He believes in all the conspiracies and hates all governments . He went on all the protests for lockdowns, etc . He left work, as he couldn’t work with no vaccines. That’s him , that’s his thoughts, and that’s his right . We never questioned his decisions. But now, he has decided to not have any contact or see any of his family , meaning, mum , grandmother, sister , etc because we are all sheeple and got blind folded . Go figure .

What? 😬

That's batshit. I just cannot comprehend it.
Why does what someone else do to their body affect you? See also abortions.

It's akin to religion, at the more extreme end - a cult. The anti-vaxxer cult has leaders; code words; the sense that they have special qualities others lack; the idea that eventually their hard work will be recognised and become the norm; a responsibility they must try to convert others (make them see 'the truth'; the feeling they are in possession of special knowledge; a rejection of mainstream knowledge.

WandaWonder · 28/04/2023 04:42

I love it, not in a genuine way but I get to ask them lots lots of questions they can't answer

And as for the 'we are all sheep line' they are just as much sheep

If people don't want to Vax fine I have no opinion if they just get on with it

LakeTiticaca · 28/04/2023 06:51

Tiresome bores who love the sound of their own voice. I don't particularly care if they don't wish to be vaccinated nor do I particularly care if they die from some or other disease

bossonext · 28/04/2023 13:50

They're not content with only putting themselves and their own children at risk, they want to encourage others to do it too. All so that they can feel special.

stbrandonsboat · 28/04/2023 13:53

It's a replacement for religion. They need something that gives their life greater meaning. They also have a strong urge to tell everyone about it. Veganism can have similar affects.

frozendaisy · 28/04/2023 14:15

They think they are special. The chosen ones.
Only they understand the truth.

Wide berth wide berth wide berth.

All part of the "all lives matter" "not far-right just right" gang.

Grunts whole lot.

Not interesting, progressive or even fun company or conversations with any of them.
