(Light hearted) No-meat “meat” products are helping me lose weight

… by being so fucking disgusting I can’t eat them 😂

I’ve gone veggie recently and I must say, I’d much rather eat vegetables, pulses and cheese!! But it would be nice to find something quick that I can just sling in the oven as freezer tapas that doesn’t taste awful. In fairness, I had a fishless “fish” fillet from asda which was really nice and actually tasted like it could have been cod! But most other no-meat alternatives are dire.

Yes, fake meat is not good. I like the Goodlife mushroom amd spinach kievs (freezer section at Tesco) - they taste of vegetables. Also mozzarella sticks, halloumi fries, cheese and onion rolls are all good freezer foods. They arent frozen but I really like the Higgidy range of vegetarian rolls (my favourite is the samosa ones) and the Gosh sweetcorn and quinoa bites. Or just eggs, beans and chips/waffles, you can't really beat that for an easy tea.

100 per cent agree, fake meat is vile

Marks and Spencer veggie kievs are so good! Packed with vegetables instead of meat alternatives.

Can't beat a Linda McCartney sausage though..

Oh and Tesco do a vegetable thing in the freezer section too, like peppers and sweet potato with pesto cream cheese in the middle. So good!

Quorn party eggs are decent too.

Ooh thanks for the suggestions, I’ll give them a go!

I love falafels too 😋 and those Asian Itsu vegetable dumplings from the freezer section
