Mine is currently snoring away clasping 2 pairs of Peppa Pig sunglasses and a book she stole from nursery entitled "I can say Thank You"

Now doing A-levels, but there was a memorable phase when our then--2yo dd refused to remove her red spotty wellies for bed.

My 22month old had an EPIC tantrum the other day when i wouldn't let her take a pot of cress to bed that she had brought home from nursery. I'm generally relaxed about all sorts of things making their way into the cot, but I draw the line at soil!! 😅

DrMadelineMaxwell · 26/04/2023 20:44

It's not what she took to bed with her, when dd2 was little. It was where she slept that used to crack me up.

I have several photos of her asleep in a hoover box.

Mine is hey duggee welly boots, spot the dog, a kipper Teddy and a pink dragon he won on a claw machine last holiday. Last month was all the teletubbies

VonWeasel · 26/04/2023 21:05

Three cars, a fire engine and a truck. We co sleep and it's like a car park in here. But I love it!!!! Until I roll over and get poked in the face by a ladder, wheel . . . You get the idea! Toddlers eh?! 🤗

An ice pack 🤯

ohmysense · 26/04/2023 21:19

A family of three stuffed bunnies of assorted sizes and a water bottle. He seems fairly unimaginative compared to some previous posts 😁

violetscarlet · 26/04/2023 21:19

A packet of ravioli. He wants it for brekkie.

A cold one?

Star Wars obsessed 3 year old, in bed with 3 lightsabers (which are actually 2 drumsticks from his drum set and a xylophone mallet) and his basket of spaceships haha.

Mossstitch · 26/04/2023 21:39

Mine all grown up now but youngest went through a phase of 'pet stick or stones' which he picked up throughout the day or once insisted on sleeping in a cardboard box until it collapsed after about 10 days as he was actually taller than it was long so the sides ripped😳

sarahc336 · 26/04/2023 21:42

Not bedtime related but she was wearing her last years Halloween pumpkin dress she spied in her wardrobe this morning whilst playing on the garden 😂😂😂 just wasn't worth the tantrum to say no

ShadowPuppets · 26/04/2023 21:42

Timing! This week my 2.5yo has adopted a pair of my balled up socks. The socks are called Baby John (a girl, for anyone who was interested). Baby John requires feeding and rocking to sleep. I just found her co-sleeping in the classic Lullaby Trust position with them. I am not allowed to wash the socks. Have been wondering how long Baby John will be with us.

On the plus side Baby John has been open to ‘mummy’ DD showing him how she brushes her teeth and puts on her clothes by herself, so I’m leaning towards letting her stay (Baby John, not DD)

forestsmurf · 26/04/2023 21:42

Mine has a tumble dryer ball in bed tonight 🤣

Tulipvase · 26/04/2023 21:46

Mine was older as he was in a top bunk but mine once blu tacked his favourite possessions to the ceiling!

Peppa sunglasses, sunhat both being worn and a pair of socks she's snaffled from the drawer acting as gloves on her hands. Pick your battles is my mantra.

DD 14m might not be able to verbalise all this yet but she does like carrying my socks round (raids my clothes pile or airers for them!) so I see this in our future!

I hope that if Baby John visits your house she’ll conduct herself in a similarly helpful fashion. 😄

*her! Crap. Misgendered Baby John.

This is a very sweet thread! I love the idea that we go through a developmental phase where a wooden spoon or balled up socks are so meaningful!

Danikm151 · 26/04/2023 21:52

My just turned 3 year old has now upgraded to carrying toys up in a rucksack…. Tonight it was lightning mcqueen and his remote control. A truck, a plastic gruffalo and a dumper truck…. And his toothbrush 😂

Minesril · 26/04/2023 21:53

3 soft toys: dalek, dragon and monkey. He rather likes an attachment from the hoover atm, but thankfully doesn't take it to bed with him.

The 8 year old goes to bed with several books/drawing pads/pencils next to him.

Cuwins · 26/04/2023 21:55

@ShadowPuppets I just hope it's my socks not my knickers that she stole this morning and was wearing like a necklace! 😂 clean ones I hasten to add.

No judgment, this morning I had to whip a pair of mine away from the 11mo that I’d left on the floor yesterday evening 😱🙈 I was blow drying my hair and I’d left him with stacks of toys, why are they so obsessed with the things they shouldn’t have!

Greycatclub · 26/04/2023 22:05

slice of brown bread

(no longer in with her)
