Wwyd with 4 days off but no money? (Child free)

I have 4 days off this coming weekend and I want to make the most of it. No children, no partner, no responsibility, but also no money! I'm saving every penny for a deposit on a flat.
Would love any ideas for what to do for free. I live in the SE of England but quite far away from the sea. Budget maybe £100 max.

Are you close enough to go to London for day trips? All kinds of free museums, galleries etc. Or where else are you close to?

BringItOnxxx · 25/04/2023 18:04

Go on trivago and put in a search for the cheapest hotel you can find? Even for one night?

Go on the Hussle website and see if there are any hotels with pools you fancy?

Spend the time cooking, reading, relaxing?

Cinema?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 25/04/2023 18:06

A day in local museums / parks. Take a flask and nice picnic.

An evening watching a film with a takeaway and bottle of something nice.

Do you have Tesco vouchers to get national trust or English heritage membership?

Any local festivals etc as it’s a bank holiday.

Long soak in the bath

sort out your wardrobe and put stuff on Vinted / FB marketplace

Are you in Surrey? I often go for a walk at Box Hill in that situation - costs petrol of course

ThreeRingCircus · 25/04/2023 18:15

Nice walk somewhere.

Pamper day. Long soak in a bubble bath, face mask, body lotion, skincare, do nails.

Takeaway and a film night at home.

Free museum or art gallery.

Get coffee and cake at a café and just people watch.

Swimming.

Uninterrupted time reading a book with multiple cups of tea.

HappyPumpkin81 · 25/04/2023 18:22

Go for long walks in the surrounding area, take a picnic and flask.

have long luxurious baths

Read some fantastic books

go window shopping

cook some interesting complicated recipes

handwrite a letter/card to someone special

QuickGuide · 25/04/2023 18:23

I go hiking. Pack a rucksack with food to last all day and walk as far as I physically can in the daylight available.

NewNovember · 25/04/2023 18:24

No money and £100 are very different.

SweetSakura · 25/04/2023 18:25

Head to some Charity shops and pick up a big pile of books to read

Find a swimming pool to go to, there are some lovely ones around

A nice walk somewhere different

Belltentdreamer · 25/04/2023 18:30

Do you have a car? I would drive to a beautiful hiking spot with a packed lunch and flask of tea. Hike all morning with a stop for lunch. Drive home bath and chill on the sofa with a book all afternoon.

Are any of your friends around? Could you invite one over to yours for lunch or bake a cake and invite them for cake and a coffee one of the days?

maddy68 · 25/04/2023 18:34

Can you go camping ?

Tickledtrout · 25/04/2023 18:37

Hiking, open water swimming, market of your chot, charity shop mooch, take a rescue dog for a walk, museums and start a craft project

Soapnutty · 25/04/2023 18:44

Any coach/national express routes near to you as cheaper for a day out?

Riapia · 25/04/2023 18:46

Wish I could be as well off when I have no money.
What a wonderful world you must live in OP.

Yeah, I thought this.

Enjoy your break, OP.

itmustbeexhausting · 25/04/2023 19:42

£100 for 4 days is not remotely close to ‘no money’ 🙄

frozendaisy · 25/04/2023 19:48

What do you dream you had the time to do OP?

It could be anything, fiction book start to finish, make a dress, walk for 6 hours, drink tea and people watch, go to the pub with a paper, do a jigsaw, binge watch TV, plant a herb garden for summer.

Personally I would make the house tidy enough, get easy food in, think cheese crackers type easy might stretch to heat up soup, then read and draw. Might trawl charity shops for some clothes bargains.

ZuckerwatterMaus · 25/04/2023 19:54

A nice late breakfast after reading in bed with a book . Then a long hot bubble bath . I like to take a flask to the park if the weather is nice . Also a wander around charity shops . Later a film or box set . If you can get to London I would spend hours in the museums and galleries without anyone setting me a time limit .

ZuckerwatterMaus · 25/04/2023 19:54

Should say reading with a cup of a coffee - of course I would have a book !

Ylvamoon · 25/04/2023 19:55

No money : exploring the public footpaths in the neighbourhood & lots of reading of my favourite books that I already own.

Some money : seeking out some more exiting hiking opportunities by car/ train & buy a book with 700+ pages

Enough money : day trips like national trust properties, a visit to London/ Brighton/ any other exiting cities and the mandatory book for long evenings!

Thighdentitycrisis · 25/04/2023 20:06

youth hostel ? walks, sketching , pint of beer and fish and chips, good book.
