If you work inside, do you check the weather?

Or of course if you are going on holiday, to an outdoor event, a wedding etc

But day to day in an average week? I know people who live by it and who check it daily irrespective of what they are up to. Out of habit more than anything else.

I just checked the forecast a minute as planning a walk with a friend tomorrow but it's the first time in about 3/4 months. What's the general consensus on MN?

The weather forecast I mean!

I work both in and outside but I always check the weather in the morning-but I've always been quite fascinated by weather etc so I may be odd!

Davestwattymissus · 21/04/2023 14:48

I wfh and I check pretty much every day...I like to know so I can plan when to walk the dog / put the washing out etc. Plus I look ahead to the next few days just to see if its going to be nice or miserable, I just like to know!

WelshNerd · 21/04/2023 14:50

Not as much as I should. I'm about to pick up the kids in the rain whilst wearing a t-shirt and light blazer.

Dontbelieveaword · 21/04/2023 14:50

Work indoors but still want to know if it's going to be cold or warm, raining or snowing, what clothes to get ready, is it going to affect travelling time etc. Not that the weather report is ever that accurate, but stll.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 21/04/2023 14:51

I think that makes sense! That said I am the world's worst planner so everything is last minute and 'what will be will be' - I think it makes perfect sense to check it. I just don't

I check it every day! I love the sun so always check rather hopefully! I also drive around a lot so I like to know ahead what the driving conditions will be.

TheFlis12345 · 21/04/2023 14:54

Yes, all the time, but I find weather interesting plus I have a dog so have to mentally plan walks around rain etc.

purpleme12 · 21/04/2023 14:54

Yes of course I do. Even if I'm working all day there'll still be a good amount of time I'm outside.

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 21/04/2023 15:44

But do you trust the forecast? I don't but then it's probably more accurate these days. I also don't mind being out in the rain..

I check it most days, usually because I have washing to dry but also I like to go out on my bike when not working so need to know how to wrap up.

QueefofSheena · 21/04/2023 15:47

Yes, but because it has a bearing on the work I plan for others. Some of it can’t be done in the rain etc. I don’t bother over weekends unless I’m going somewhere that’s outside.

Crunchymum · 21/04/2023 17:05

Everyday, several times and over several apps. I WFH but have the school run everyday. I use BBC weather and Accuweather mainly but have another two apps.

I need to know if kids need raincoats / gloves / tights or sunhats and sunscreen.

EmmaEmerald · 21/04/2023 17:07

Yes but I don't drive, so I walk to the station and all errands are done by walking. I would have thought the same applies to many of us.

EmmaEmerald · 21/04/2023 17:07

Oh I don't trust the forecast so always have a brolly.

DiscoBeat · 21/04/2023 17:11

I check it every day! It helps to plan when to walk the dog and put the washing out, or for the gardening - not to keen to do any of those in the rain,

Tumbleweed101 · 21/04/2023 19:50

I check as like to know what I can plan to do. Rainy days might be home admin or shopping, sunny days washing and mowing lawn etc.

I do check daily for work too but I spend time outside each day at work so not your question.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/04/2023 19:54

Yes I check forecast most days to check whether it's safe to put washing out while I'm out of the house. Also I don't drive and bike/walk/bus so it's useful to know whether I need waterproofs.
