Has anyone stayed in a Premier Inn hub?

Normally stay in Premier Inn King's Cross but prices are astronomical. Just 2 adults, 1 night and there to sleep/ shower. £100 price difference.

They are really compact but I’d say fine for 1 night

Eugenieonegin · 20/04/2023 18:56

I have stayed for work, fine for one night. I seen to remember no window, but it didn’t matter as it was winter.

cherrypied · 20/04/2023 18:59

I think the basic room has the bed against a wall. He deluxe room has two sides accessible and is a king size bed it think.

There's loads of you tube Vlogs I've not stayed there but seen it on a few vlogs.

I stayed in one recently. It was like a cross between Japanese and teenagers bedroom in terms of decor. Very clean (unlike a teenagers bedroom), compact and comfortable. I had a small window.

I’d definitely stay in one again! Though I was by myself.

I have stayed in a hub, It was as great price for the location and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. However the rooms are compact and if you are sharing you are in close proximity at all times. Even the shower room has little privacy!

EmmaC78 · 20/04/2023 19:03

I stayed in one recently for work and it was fine. Very compact, as others have said, but ok for a few nights.

BonnieGlasses · 20/04/2023 19:04

I've stayed in the Premier Inn Hub at Kings Cross. It was absolutely fine but I was only there for one night and I was in the room on my own.

FredaFox · 20/04/2023 19:07

I've stayed in soho and brick lane, likes others say, they are small rooms so if sharing be aware of that but they are clean and adequate
I'd stay in one again

bailarbailar · 20/04/2023 19:08

I stayed in the one off gower street and it was fine - clean and new just small! Double bed but against a wall

Hbh17 · 20/04/2023 19:10

I'd use one on my own - quite convenient and functional. Bit small for two people, but OK if one of you doesn't mind sleeping on the side of the bed by the wall

stringbean · 20/04/2023 19:12

Stayed in the one at Kings Cross before getting the Eurostar last year - dh and I stayed in one of the basic rooms. Absolutely fine for a night - would certainly stay there again if I was in London on my own - room had a window, and shower room was great. Good breakfast for the price as well.

Same but I had one child with me. 2 nights. Perfectly fine and comfy and there is a terrific Chinese across the road (Mr Chop from memory, but I may be wrong).

SpringLobelia · 20/04/2023 19:15

aaah no 'Chop Chop Noodle bar'.

Mr Chop was the restaurant my schoolfriend's family owned. Good memories of fantastic feasts.

Quite fond of the Brick Lane branch. Clean and compact, with window. Fine for one person, think I’d rather two rooms for two people.

I do find having to go down to the lobby for coffee or a snack a bit of a nuisance - but I love the reliability of Premier Inns, either version.

I've also stated in the one at King's Cross, the only thing I'd add is that everything was controlled from an app on your phone (which I couldn't get to work) - this included the heating/air con which was important to get right as there was no opening window. Also it had no kettle in the room, you had to go downstairs to the bar area where they had free tea and coffee making facilities, which was a bit of a pain. Despite that I'd probably do it again as it's so much cheaper, but I'd take a thermos flask to fill with hot water!

Titsywoo · 20/04/2023 19:17

I stay in them a lot in London and love them. Normally by myself but with DH once and it was fine. They are so well priced, clean and modern. I've stayed in the Tower Bridge, Covent Garden, Goodge St and St James ones and they are always great and near tube stations.

That's odd, I've stayed at the Kings Cross one several times, last time a few weeks ago, and nothing in the room needed an app? Lights, aircon/heating, do not disturb signs are all controlled by a touchscreen control panel. I guess they might have some rooms which are different but their website doesn't mention it.

The small rooms are small but we'll designed and fine for one night. I tend to go for the bigger room unless alone as my DP gets a bit claustrophobic in the small one.

jay55 · 20/04/2023 19:36

I have. I needed a chair to climb in to the bed as it was so high. But it was nice and clean. Have stayed in two both in Westminster.

WizardinTraining · 20/04/2023 19:52

I’ve stayed at Brick Lane, reasonable price, clean and modern but quite compact and the bathroom had see-through walls which wasn’t ideal on my first weekend away with a new man! Good location though

The only thing I needed my phone for was to do the mirror tv thing so I could watch Netflix on the TV. Everything else was controlled from the panel behind the bed.

You must be very short!

HappiDaze · 20/04/2023 20:51

I've stayed in the one in Covent Garden.

Compact but modern.

Literally if you just need somewhere to sleep.

HappiDaze · 20/04/2023 20:52

I liked it

TokyoSushi · 20/04/2023 20:55

I've stayed in the Kings Cross one, it's very small and a bit odd, but very clean and has everything that you need. I'd definitely stay there again!

TruthRevolution · 20/04/2023 20:57

I have. I've stayed in the Kings Cross one and all the Edinburgh ones.
I like them, modern rooms, good air con, smart TV, rainfall showers etc.
Communal areas all very nice and free tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water whenever you like.

I always pay a bit more for a larger room and ask for a room with a window.
