Emotional Literacy Sessions at Primary

Received an email from my children’s school this morning stating that following a member of staff completing training, they would be starting emotional literacy sessions and my child (didn’t specify which one) was put forward by their teacher as being a child they feel would benefit from these sessions.

The email has sent me into a panic with its wording and wondering what these sessions are and why my child may be an ideal candidate for them.

All had good reports from teachers at a recent parents evening with no major concerns. I’ve replied asking they state which child and their reasons for now.

Look up ELSA it's highly likely to be this, a lot of work about confidence and wellbeing

Must say I’d want to know why a child or a Gdc of mine had been recommended for these.
I make therapy items (mostly cuddly ‘worry eaters’) for a charity that sends them (free) to a variety of children’s therapists inc. ELSA, all over the U.K. There’s always a huge demand, and therapists who receive them say how extremely helpful they are, but I’d always understood that the sessions were for children who were troubled in some way - often (as I understand it) for some fairly serious reason, though I dare say it could also be for something relatively minor (to anyone else, e.g. a best friend moving away) that a child was very upset about.
I’d want to know, though!
