Has anyone had success trying ‘alternative/complementary’ therapies for health issues?

I know complementary therapies won’t ‘cure’ medical conditions but I am looking to try something which may help give me some relief from my own current issues which conventional medicine isn’t really helping with.
I have anxiety, depression and awful daily gut issues (functional dyspepsia and IBS, which is daily and controlling). I am 50 so in peri too which is probably exacerbating everything. I have tried everything the GP recommends but they tend to cause side effects which add to my issues.
I do try to look after my mind and body and watch my diet, drink only water, exercise, do all I am supposed to do to help my digestive problems and practice daily mindfulness and hypnotherapy but they are not having huge positive impacts (or maybe I would be so much worse if I didn’t do those things?!).
Has anyone tried anything like reflexology, massage therapy, acupuncture etc and had some relief from any health issues?
Any suggestions most welcome.

You might also consider the 'steps to mental health' model:

Relax and reduce stress
Find ways to learn and be creative
Spend time in nature
Connect with others
Look after your physical health
Try to get enough sleep

You might be focusing on some of these, but do you eg do something creative regularly, get outside into nature etc? That could have a big impact too

Yes I like aromatherapy and also take passion flower tablets from H & B. I read about passion flower as an anti-anxiety treatment and it works wonders for me. I am however a big believer in placebo effect so could just be that..

I was recommended Chinese medicine for sinus problems that I'd had for years.
I finished the course about 6-8 months ago and I haven't had any recurrence.

It's basically herbalism

I used Agnus castus when TTC which I'm sure helped

Hypnotherapy for IBS, through the NHS back in the early 2000’s.

Self care can be important in helping with anxiety and depression. Part of seeking ways to help yourself is self compassion.

It can be difficult but being outside in nature - green or blue space ie gardens, forests or seascapes, water - has been shown to have positive impact on the body and mind. Exercise outside is even better :) I find it very hard to motivate myself so I joined a group that meets twice weekly. It has made a huge difference to me.

Found out by accident that Low carb (50g daily) resolved menopause issues. No idea how that would affect gut issues though. No particular limits for fat or protein, just minimally processed.

I will try all of the suggestions, thank you. Hopefully, one may help me.
W0tnow I have heard low carb helps, my friend has had much success on it however, I due today my gut issues I can not tolerate dairy, eggs, red meat, nuts and pulses. Sadly, that would make for a very restricted diet for me.
