Creative visualisation & ‘manifesting’ - seems to work (?)

Geri Halliwell famously ‘wrote down what she wanted’ & it came to pass.

Was pondering today as came across the Pinterest of a woman I know socially. All see was ‘manifesting’ 10 years ago has come to pass & these were VERY broad, ambitious goals.

Think ‘dream home’ and much more, second home, £££s.

I can see that being dogged, tenacious & single minded gets you places but beyond that? Which are best books or podcasts that offer a take on it?

A friend attended a ‘course’ in London, funnily enough an ex Spice girl there too. Some kind of wish fulfilment, manifestation ‘boot camp’. Her success speaks for itself.

So, is there anything in it & where can I discover more?

For me is is not manifestation... for me what I did is planning. Manifestation without planning is just dreaming. The planning and acting on that planning is what makes it work

I find that it works in my life. I’m not sure if it’s law of attraction, God, positive thinking or what. It definitely works for me

Agree that it's a positive mindset thing. Seeing new opportunities, being prepared to say yes to things you're not sure about, being proactive, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.

If you're the sort of "go-getter" person who actively seeks out possibilities and goes for it, you're likely to be more successful than someone who sits in their pyjamas waiting for good fortune to drop in their lap.

I'm manifesting being blonde, slim and conversational in French by a milestone birthday. It's not just sending a wish out into the universe, it's making lifestyle changes and working towards your visualised goals.

I'm just curious what geri halliwell wanted and got? She doesn't have much of a career does she? Last I heard she was wafting around in white after marrying a rich man is that what was on her vision board?

I'm pretty sure geri halliwell didn't write down I want to be a singer and then magically wake up in the spice girls. She worked damn hard and went to auditions. Having a clear idea of goals and believing in yourself is important but it's not some magic way of getting what you want without putting the work in.

What on earth are you talking about? I imagine she doesn't need a career these days as she's made more money than you could possibly imagine so is enjoying her life now. She doesn't need to keep releasing songs....

Come back and slag off another woman @CrotchetyCrocheting when you’ve achieved a fraction of what Geri Halliwell has. Do you know how hard it is for women to succeed in the music industry? She sold 100 million records and her band is iconic throughout the world. All of this done well before she married a rich man.

I agree on Geri, in that you could argue without her gumption & single mindedness the Spice Girls may have flopped. Fuller clearly a factor too. Geri also overcame some adversity & like Victoria B she’s undeniably driven & focused.

Geri is clearly v into self improvement & personal growth. Again, admirable, not a victim mentality.

I didn’t mean to be dismissive in the ‘write everything down’ comment.

There is no magic to it. It won't mysteriously deliver you the life you imagine without you putting in the work.

However, setting your intentions and being clear about what you want might make you more open to opportunities that lead to the things that you want and more focused on working towards them.

Oh I was under the impression you were talking about recently. I didn't think 'manifesting' was really something people were doing 30 years ago but I was a small child then so maybe there were. I've only noticed people talking about it since 'The Secret' was realeased that was a good decade later and itsbreally only recently that every second woman thinks that it works. It didn't occur to me that you were talking about the early 90s.
