Good morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I'm sitting in my spot, with my first cuppa of the day. Everyone else is still asleep & all I can hear is the birds outside, through the open window. Lovely 😊

My plan for the day is to iron, and then do not much else. I'm still not well & really struggling not to over-do it though! I'll probably crochet my way through the day, either the top that's frustrating me, or the blanket I've been working on. I need to contact my Rainbow and Guide parents to cancel Tuesday too - there won't be enough grown ups this week without me 😢

I'll get the girls to check their homework's all complete & uniform/whatever they need is all ready for the morning, too.

Other than that, probably a very slow day here!

Roast pork for tea, with roast potatoes, some sort of veg and yorkshires. I really want a proper dinner but not sure how much I'll eat 🤷‍♀️.

What about all of you? 🙂

Still in bed with coffee. After breakfast am off for a swim in the sea...brrrr. Them some pottering in garden and house, beef casserole in slow cooker.

lucysmam · 16/04/2023 09:18

@SorePaw they could...but I would need some sort of plan in place for the other ladies who just turn up & run to my plan rather than contribute anything much 🙄 It's had no headspace at all for about 4 weeks now.

I'm trying to decide between going to Let Women Speak in Belfast or, more sensibly, my usual Sunday things of visiting family etc - the times clash, annoyingly.

Whendovescry03 · 16/04/2023 09:24

I think I had covid all last week which I'm still getting over. Had lots of friends over last night and I drank too much wine and then slept badly so I'm feeling pretty dead to the world! Will probably head back to bed shortly and let DH take over with DC.

Then I need to get through some washing and clean the kitchen before heading to a friend's house for Sunday lunch which I'm looking forward to! Then back home for a quiet evening, back to the usual work/school routine tomorrow.

familyissues12345 · 16/04/2023 09:26

Gardening!

Sadly very excited, we moved into our house in the new year and it's our first house with a proper pretty garden - flowerbeds etc. I've been itching to get out there to start putting our stamp on it. Todays the day!

Other than that, we're off to the theatre tonight. Just our local one, but teenage DS is coming with us and he doesn't do much with us anymore so any time he does feels really special

HuggingtheHRT · 16/04/2023 09:38

Taking the dog for a walk shortly and then have some garden centre plants to pot. And fancy a spot of sewing this afternoon.

thefinaltwist · 16/04/2023 10:00

Morning. Got alot done in the garden yesterday so need to finish that off today and I will tidy up the front garden aswell. Going to a friends for a coffee later this afternoon. This evening I might have a bath and read my book. Glass of wine.

Dh will be helping in the garden he wants to get a few things to the dump then he wants to wash his motorbike. Ds will probably have a lazy day since its back to school tomorrow. Hes actually still asleep which is unheard of

myheartmyhead · 16/04/2023 10:03

Popping to see DH's stepdad for an hour
Then home, to a roast and organising for back to school tomorrow
DS's still in bed
May have gone to a drag wars semi final last night and drunk 1 too many teapot cocktails, so feeling a tad delicate!

anewbook · 16/04/2023 10:13

Sorry to hear you are still unwell @lucysmam
I hope things get resolved very soon!

We had plans for going to B&Q today but I am feeling exhausted. Still getting over a heavy cold… 5th one this year.

Beef and guiness stew for tea made by DH.

TroysMammy · 16/04/2023 10:13

I've been summoned by my Dad to take him to a garden centre to buy tomatoes as he thinks his are not trying hard enough. Considering just over 2 weeks ago he had life saving surgery, (his bulging aorta was replaced) he is 84 and I also love gardening I'm more than happy to oblige.

Iamnotaloggrip · 16/04/2023 10:18

Went to junior park run with DD this morning, she’s then got a party this afternoon. DS is at footy at the moment. Might try to do some yoga. Roast for tea. Will try to get the kids in bed early ready for school tomorrow but they will resist as that is far too sensible an idea!

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 16/04/2023 10:19

Still in pjs here drinking coffee & dd1 still in bed.
Lazy chill day here with s long walk/bike ride this pm coz it sounds like kids barely got any fresh air at their dads.
Homework for dd1
Maybe decluttering. Could do with sorting garden but no sun atm

Decafflatteplease · 16/04/2023 10:24

Morning @lucysmam sorry you are still not well but glad they are doing further tests and about time too!

Lovely slow morning here everyone just pottering around. All uniform has been done over the holidays so no need to do that yay! Would like to change beds this morning as it's meant to be sunny most of the week next week so easy to get sheets dry rather than using the tumbler.

We don't have any real plans today which is lovely. We'll have to get out this afternoon at some point for fresh air and change of scene as usual but not sure where. Maybe swimming, maybe the woods, maybe a nature reserve.

spaghetti carbonara for dinner I think as we've got loads of eggs that need using up, literally 2 dozen 😱

Then Sunday night ritual of gin in the bath with my kindle and an early night ready for back to school tomorrow!

MrsH497 · 16/04/2023 10:30

Ball of nerves and anxiety it's my first day back to work after Mat leave tomorrow I'm dreading it.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 16/04/2023 10:39

Wishing you better @lucysmam.

I had a lie-in this morning that’s left me feeling very groggy, and a bit pointless as now DH has fallen asleep. So our plans to get out to a local music thing are off! I’m feeling a but under the weather anyway so a slow day is in order. Thinking of popping to the shop pre-toddler nap for dinner bits; Greek beans and roasties with feta. Then hopefully a quiet cuppa while he sleeps. We’ve got a busy week so I’m quite happy with a home day.

Simonjt · 16/04/2023 11:39

I’m shocked you’re still unwell, hopefully they’ll be able to get it sorted for you soon.

I’m in Antwerp driving our camper back to the UK with the dog, everyone else flew home. We were due to be home earlier, but we had a damaged rim (entirely my fault) and as they’re an unusual kind it too a few days to have it repaired. Luckily it wasn’t expensive to change our ferry, probably because it will now be outside the school holidays.

We’ve been for a really nice long dog walk this morning, then I’m going to catch up on the mandalorian.

Tisfortired · 16/04/2023 11:59

I love these threads and a nose into everybody’s day to day 😊

I’m on the couch with a flat white and my sleeping 4mo in my arms and the dog sleeping next to me, listening to Bonobo on YouTube. DS upstairs playing. DP has gone out to collect my new hoover!

When he comes back I’ll have a play with my new toy, make a roast chicken dinner and do the ironing and packed lunches for back to school tomorrow!

CaramelicedLatte · 16/04/2023 12:13

Afternoon, @lucysmam, sorry to hear you're still unwell, it seems to have been going on for some time. Are you getting some medical help? I hope rest will be healing for you. Flowers

Very quiet here today too. DH sorted the uniforms out ove the holiday so that's all sorted. DS1 (15) needs to get his stuff together later, but he's out all day today on a practice DofE expedition. DH dropped him off this morning, but I will pick him up later this afternoon.

DS2 and DD are just having a PJ day today in order to have as much energy as possible for school tomorrow. DH is watching a film and finishing the ironing. I'm listening to a podcast and MNing.

We're having toad in the hole for dinner and blueberry pie with custard for pudding. I love Sundays!

yogibear22 · 16/04/2023 12:20

After a chaotic Easter holidays I am doing very little today! Dh took the baby so I could have a lie in then we went for a dog walk around 9. Dd had her morning nap and dh and I had a cooked breakfast outdoors in the sunshine. Bloody glorious. I have a few loads of washing to do and will take dd to visit my mum this afternoon while dh does a tip run and a few other typical Sunday jobs.

Later we're having a lamb roast and then I'll settle down with a series when the dc are in bed.

Mimosa08 · 16/04/2023 12:26

Ironing here too @lucysmam
I don't iron often...about every 4/6 weeks as I hate it so much
I have a headache and feel grotty
I hope you feel better soon 💕

Naimee87 · 16/04/2023 12:26

About to get some practice in parking a truck with a friend. Dog and DS having a bonding day at home. I do love weekends.

mrsbyers · 16/04/2023 12:33

For the second weekend in a row I’m back in hospital , suspected blood clot on lung / overload of fluid from IV’s last weekend

just waiting for the delights of lunch to arrive

EssexMamisoa · 16/04/2023 13:05

Attempted a lie in this morning as DD (6 months) was up every 1.5 hours. Lie in didn’t work as DD was over tired. Since took her out for a walk to the high street with DH and she slept in the pram. Got a coffee. Now back sorting out lunch and unboxing our Gousto delivery. Hoping to squeeze a short run in this afternoon. DH will watch the footy. Need to hang out the clothes washing too.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 16/04/2023 13:07

mrsbyers 💐 I hope you get better soon
