Kids balls in my garden

Next doors kids keep kicking their footballs over the fence . When I hear it go over I throw it back within seconds but if it's happend without me knowing. Then my dogs get the balls and burst them within seconds.

I feels bad for the kids . I'm thinking of getting a wireless bell . So they can have the button part and I will have the bell bit. So as soon as the ball gos over they could buzz it. So I know its there and can throw bit straight back. Does that sound like it could work?

The kids in my case are 9. And don't go to the park on their own .

Purposely popping a kids ball is awful and cruel. Ok maybe make them wait a bit. But popping their balls is nasty

It’s not nasty at all. It’s a natural consequence of repeated thoughtless behaviour.

My horrible neighbours used to hide the items my kids accidentally threw over when they were little. They'd line them up next to the fence instead of just chucking them back over, I dont think they realised we could see this from an upstairs window. We already had problems with them so I simply bought more toys / balls and stopped telling them when their pet had escaped. I am that petty.
I always give the kids their balls back because I'm nice.

Took them more effort to row them up then to throw them over. Some people seem to put themselves out to be nasty to children.

I would just pop round and tell them feel free to go and get the ball when it goes over. Either through the gate or jump the fence if they can. That's what we did as kids.. not a huge problem!

Can't do that because of my dogs. I think I will just stick to trying my best to get to them before the dogs do .
