Cleaner didn’t leave chan

I work full time and have young children so for the past year 2 cleaners have came and cleaned for me one hour a week. I provide all cleaning products and they do a good enough job - not brilliant but makes life easier at the weekend. I gave both presents at Xmas. Recently they increased their rate which is understandable because of fuel costs etc but it has meant it feels difficult to justify this help.

Yesterday I was at home when they came. I left the money down on the worktop when the boss was mid flow talking to me about something and gestured to her to show where I left it. I had not got the exact cash so left £10 extra expecting her to leave the change. They always have cash for change. She didn’t leave the change and didn’t mention anything about it. I didn’t notice until after they had gone. I don’t want to lose the cleaners but at the same time I’m a bit annoyed at paying an extra £10 without discussing it. I bumped her last night but didn’t mention it. Would I be unreasonable to bring it up. Any idea on how I should approach it? Or should I just suck it up? Thanks

That's really off of them thinking you tipped an extra £10 without even checking why . I'm not sure I'd keep having them tbh and why do you need two cleaners , is it a vast house 🏡

@hattie43 absolutely not vast. 😂 I wish. Just a time poor busy working family home. It’s only 2 hours a week.

Can you send a text saying something like 'thanks as always for a great job, sorry you didn't have change, so will balance the overpayment next time'

@TyneTeas love this. Perfect put. Thank you.
