What is a cheap/ simple/ uncomplicated habit (or thing) that you started following (or bought) that dramatically changed your life for the better...

That's it really.
Same if you had the same effect with abandoning a habit or a thing.
Looking for inspiration.

A proper desktop Sellotape holder thing, no idea what their real name is. Sellotape dispenser? A proper heavy one that holds a full size roll of tape. You can cut the tape with one hand while holding your parcel together with the other hand. No messing around with teeth or scissors. I've just wrapped a birthday present today and appreciated ours yet again.

Ooh me too! Got it for wrapping the Christmas presents and it was fantastic.

@WarmFunKindStrong

Which glasses do you recommend or do you think they are all pretty much the same. I would love to be able to sleep better!

actually @Rae36 's comment above makes me think of a general good piece of advice that I always have done for years rather than a cheap habit which is if you need something, it's often a good idea to pay more for the more professional/industrial version because it lasts longer and is more effective - I'm thinking particularly here of office stuff

so I hole puncher that will punch a load with a lever (assuming you need one that is - just as an example)
heavy duty stapler
that kind of thing

A thermos with a spout

Thank you everyone for taking the time to share your experience. On Friday I started forcing myself to drink more water (used to drink very little water) as I want to build this very healthy habit for life. I tried several times in the past but failed; God willing not this time. So far so good.
I also ordered a new Bialetti moka maker to replace my 2 others which have developed problems.
Baby steps but still very important.
I hope this thread helped/inspired at least some of you to start positive change in your life.

I find swimming regularly helps me loads.

Never leave the washing up til the next day. So nice to always come in to a clean counter, starts the day right.

Eat at the same time as the kids rather than making two separate meals. Reclaims the evening.

I drink water with lemon slices all morning at work. Fills me up and stops me snacking. I'm actually starting to enjoy the taste of it

How long did it take?

DaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisyDaisy · 29/04/2023 08:17

@coodawoodashooda to enjoy the taste? Probably a few weeks. I use a bottle. Cut up some lemon.. squeeze the juice in.. then add a few more slices and give it a shake. I read somewhere that the lemon isn't great for your teeth.. always something!! But it really works for me and keeps me full.

Additions for this thread keep occurring to me...buy a boatload of stamps, both first and second class, and keep them in your card box/drawer. There is no feeling smugger than having a stamp when you need one!
