Snitch /grass

I have noticed over the years that people love to snitch /grass/report people. Over stupid things such as using a hose pipe to fill a kids pool. Or not having a dipped kerb for their drive. I know legally you should have a dipped kerb . But years ago people never grassed over things like that. Now all I ever hear is report report report .

If these things aren't causing a negative impact on others, then I agree, it's spiteful and unnecessary.

However, if people breaking the rules, however minor these may be, is having a negative impact on you, why on earth wouldn't you report it to the relevant authority? It might seem inconsequential to you, but rules are in place for a reason, so if you break them, you're opening yourself up to whatever the consequences are.

The language you used in your title/OP is quite negatively emotive, have you experienced problems at the ends of some of these reports?

No i never have experienced anything like that. It was just a general thing that I have seen/heard of alot that's all . Nothing personal to me.

I wouldn't report anyone for the hose but regarding the dropped kerb, if someone can drive over the path using wood or concrete blocks in the gutter to get onto their property, why did the vast majority of us shell out a couple of thousand to have a dropped kerb put in as you are supposed to do?

I can certainly see why someone would get reported for that by annoyed neighbour(s).

Or are the neighbours just annoyed they never thought about it first or dont have the guts to do it? By the way theses are just examples/things I gave seen written by others.

Perhaps people have too much time on their hands.

I could report my next door neighbour to their landlord for blocking my right of access due to dumped rubble, but I haven't, because they have been putting my bins our for me while access is troublesome, so it's no inconvenience to me.

I could report multiple neighbours to the council for parking their cars on the green, but I don't. I'm vaguely irritated that the grass is getting churned up, but that doesn't actually affect me, so I let them at it.

I did however used to regularly report another neighbour for parking over the dropped kerb, as I had young DC, often in a pushchair, and a joint issue myself, which made getting the buggy and buggy board up and down a kerb painful for me. I asked them perfectly politely if they could park a little further over (thinking they may not have realised it was causing an issue for anyone) I got a mouthful of abuse and swearing, so I then reported every instance, with photographs of their parking, until my DC were past the buggy stage. That did cause me issues, and they were an arsehole about it, so I decided to be an arsehole as well.

If someone's not got an official dropped kerb for their drive they haven't got a drive. They've got a concrete front garden. And anyone can park right in front of it.
