It's bamboo. Kitchen and hallway so high traffic. I sweep or hoover it and then mop it, but it is still filthy so need to then wipe it with a cloth. Would a steam cleaner save me hassle and do a good job? If so, is there one you'd recommend?

I just got a beldray one from b&m and it does a good job. I use it a couple of times a week and my floor comes up clean. You can get multiple attachment ones so you’d get more value for your money.

What sort of mop are you using? I'd use one that has washable heads so that you can use several if mop and bucket aren't working. Are you even allowed to steam bamboo?

I'm not absolutely sure about steaming bamboo, tbh. Maybe I need to look into that. I use a bog standard mop and squeeze it out really dry so it doesn't soak the floor. ( I can't believe I'm having a serious convo about floor mopping. This must make me a grown-up 😆)

If you can’t steam it maybe try one of flash mops. Then it’s a clean mop each time.

And, yes, grow up most definitely!

I have hardwood floors. I clean them with a bucket of water and a little squirt of dishwashing liquid. In between I spot clean with a spray of heavily diluted methylated spirits. Works well.

I decided to be wild and clean wood worktop (raw teak sealed with danish oil); with the pink stuff spray. Wild. Definitely cleaned it and removed all the water marks but think it might have bleached it lighter.
