Because there isn't a market for them here.

midgemadgemodge · 12/04/2023 12:18

" all inclusive hotel uk"

Lockheart · 12/04/2023 12:18

I think there would be a market for them here. And Brits would 1000% abuse it.

There's a lovely wine bar in Germany where you pay 2eu entry, then pay what you think you owe at the end of the night. They also have big traybake dinners available, also on a pay what you think basis.

Can you IMAGINE the owners not being bankrupted in five minutes in the UK if they tried that here?

LittleLegsKeepGoing · 12/04/2023 12:18

Butlins is. I can't say I'd go there though, it seems a lot of money for what they offer.

EmmaEmerald · 12/04/2023 12:21

There are packages like this in the UK.

EmmaEmerald · 12/04/2023 12:21

Oh wait, do you mean booze?

sittingonacornflake · 12/04/2023 12:28

Potters is AI in UK

Pseudonamed · 12/04/2023 12:39

I actually wondered this before too about Ireland. I would say its a drink thing. Hotels offer meal packages but not stupid enough to include drinks lol

Yep I can definitely imagine British people abusing it. As a nation brits are the worst behaved on holiday's compared to other Europeans.

I often feel embarrassed to be British when I'm around other brits on holidays.

Amantissima · 12/04/2023 12:59

As people have said, they do exist in a form, but I assume is that the perception is that there isn't a mass market for it, as the type of people likely to book an all-inclusive holiday are far more likely to want to do so somewhere with reliably hot weather. Plus costs, food, staff wages are higher in the UK, so the cost would be higher compared to an equivalent in Spain or Greece.

AI isn't even an option available to purchase from some countries, even for hotels that offer it for customers from other markets. It is an odd thing!

maddiemookins16mum · 12/04/2023 13:16

Most AI hotels are in countries where (many) customers go and don’t move from the pool/adjoining beach for 2 weeks due to fab weather. We don’t get that here.
