Please if you wouldn’t mind, would you talk me through my recent blood test results and do you see anything concerning?

Reason for test was I have prolonged heavy periods that often last for months. Last period was for 3 months (consistently heavy/ large clots and abdominal pain). Period before that was for around 4 months also. Have had irregular periods for years (10+) however the duration and intensity of bleeding has increased greatly in the last 18 months. Pain has also become almost unbareable however I don’t have pain everyday that I am bleeding.

I have a follow up appointment with my gp next week however I would love some insight. Thanks

Oops! Wasn’t finished. Please let the doctor know that you are at the end of your tether and would like to see a gynaecologist and/or endocrinologist - especially if you have a history of diabetes or infertility in your family.

They look fairly normal, be reassured that those borderline results are only very very slightly out of normal range and are unlikely be to due to your condition. Folate deficiency can be improved either via suppliment or diet- this a very common and fixable deficiency whichI imagine is making you feel more tired on top of your other symptoms so worth correcting. Other blood results are indicative of PCOS, although you already know this. It's unhelpful having a diagnosis without treatment when you're suffering so worth discussing with your doctor whether a referral to endocrinology (hormone) doctors would be helpful.
