Would you expect to know results of blood test?

Had a blood test last week as I haven't been feeling myself and the gp receptionist has just rung me now and said my results were borderline so I need another blood test. I asked what it was borderline for and she said 'I don't know I'm just reading the results off the screen' so I said okay, is there any way I can find out what it's borderline for? And she said no 😂. So now I'm getting another blood test but I have no idea why! I'm not being OTT to wonder what it's borderline for am I? I presume if I ring back I'll either talk to the same receptionist or another one who'll just look up my record and tell me the same thing?

You're entitled to a print out if you request one, it's your information and they can't withhold it.

When the receptionist rings you with new results, ask for the actual result, as in the reading.

I understand you need to compare the result with a good or average readings. I just search online for this but what you do is up to you.

Receptionists are going to be out of depth somewhat as they have had absalutely no medical training, which I understand is not their fault either.

This isn't a universal thing. Many surgeries and hospitals are not signed up to share medical record via the app.

Most I can get it some prescriptions I've had over the past few years.

Oh thats a shame i thought it was

She couldn't even tell me what test I was borderline for so I doubt she will have the actual readings in front of her! I had a broad spectrum blood test that tested for a few things so it's anyone's guess what I'm borderline for 🙈

If I'm driving past the surgery between now and next week and I have time then I'll go in and ask for a print out.
