I know signs are the things to go by to determine if hormone levels are changing due to menopause but are there pee on a stick type tests available

No

The problem is partly that menopause is characterised by wide fluctuations in hormone levels down one day up the next

If you are of age and symptoms then it's most likely menopause

A doctor can rule out other possible things or provide HRT to see if you lose the symptoms

No, some doctors will recommend a blood test but that is outdated thinking for women in the 45+ age bracket. Sometimes recommended for younger women but not to diagnose menopause - to rule out any other factors which might be causing your symptoms.

If you have symptoms which indicate menopause or peri-menopause, get to your GP and discuss options. There are many more symptoms than hot flushes.

I used one from Wilco many years ago, called Menopause test, which measured FSH levels. I just checked and it was unavailable, but might be available somewhere else. It gave an indication of where you might be with menopause, so isn't a 'final say' kind of test. It was accurate for me i.e. reading was on the floor and I was just in menopause.
