PaperwhiteTheGhost · 11/04/2023 02:35

Deliver, when used in terms of baby arrival. Ugh.

Sarnies

Panties
Also there are quite a few women in customer facing roles who say 'perfect' when you answer a basic question that they've asked eg:

Can I just get (shudder) your email address?

It's freddiesteeth983@ sky. com

Perfect

Oh god I've started doing that at work and it makes me hate myself. I don't know where the hell it came from but I can't seem to stop. A patient even commented on it the other day 😌

TheLadyofShalott1 · 11/04/2023 02:48

Obsessed….

this word makes me cringe

Oh god, yes. People are so dramatic. No one can be simply fond of anything any more.

OneMoreCookieMonster · 11/04/2023 04:32

@EveningRoutine re foodie-

Yes, seriously said by an over 40s man, to refer to any food from a take out or restaurant or even just a bit more than a basic dinner. Use to cringe hard every single time. And, also to anyone who refers to themselves as a foodie. I mean why? Just say you enjoy food or eating out.

Infantising (yeah pretty sure I just may have made that word up) words is such a major turn off.

I'd also like to add

Snugglies (cuddles)
Walkies
Blowie

Yuck!

Bewilderedandhurt · 11/04/2023 04:40

Super, being used as a prefix to everything like excited, proud, etc when very would be just fine.

GreenWheat · 11/04/2023 04:44

Anxiety, when said as if it's a special diagnosed condition, but people actually just mean they find something a bit stressful or uncomfortable, y'know, like we all do from time to time.

whatisforteamum · 11/04/2023 05:06

I haven't heard anyone say panties since the 7O s.
I am guilty of saying furbaby though 🤣

ShamedBySiri · 11/04/2023 06:57

Sputum.

Expectorate.

I'm old enough to remember (mostly) old men having sputum pots that they'd fill up and hand to a passing nurse for disposal and request a new one. Sometimes they'd knock it over.....That bubbly chesty cough as they bring it up. Anything green and slimy makes me heave. 🤢🤮
