NHS Dentists I have a question for you.

Just a quick question for any NHS dentists, I work full time however do get some universal credit, therefore am entitled to dental care on the NHS.

I have recently been told I have the beginnings of gum disease, so they will help with what treatment I need, however I have some mild gaps forming in-between my teeth and it is starting to make me feel very self conscious and anxious that people are looking at me talking and finding myself shy away from conversations.

I’ve been doing some research and have read that after any treatment for the gum disease has improved my gum health as a fix for the gaps I could possibly get composite bonding, however this isn’t available on the NHS as technically it’s classed as a cosmetic procedure, but I was just wondering it is available in band 3 (if I have read and understood that correctly) so would I be able to ask my dentist for this and pay the fee for that band and have the procedure done? As I really cannot afford to pay thousands for it to get done privately.

No. As you have said yourself it is cosmrtic treatment so not covered by the NHS.
Band 3 treatments have to involve a dental lab
