Rehab questions

A family member of mine has gotten into an awful mess with drugs. They’ve always had an addictive personality, has a ridiculously good job, high salary, high pressure. Doesn’t want to get help via the nhs as work have access to these records (or so I’m told because of security clearance) . I assume private help would only be known if they had a reason to look into it - but so far work haven’t raised any concerns.

Questions.
How much does this cost - obviously it depends on time/ treatment plans. But if anyone’s has any experience/ knowledge of this could they say what treatment & cost etc.
Are payment plans a thing? I assume their finances aren’t what they should be atm.

and

What can I do to help? I feel helpless, no idea what to say, or do.

It sounds like they need to see their GP ASAP tomorrow given the paranoia about access to records.

I mean, checks were done on family members before the job so it doesn’t actually sound so far fetched

To access their records they would need their explicit consent to do so and with a clear intended purpose.

There isn’t any Rehab on the NHS anyway.

Self-refer to The Priory or Clouds or similar.

The NHS work with local addiction recovery services through the mental health trusts, or they do here.

Don't bother with NHS it can't do anything for them. Plus messes up any chance you have of life insurance Etc

If they have the money then self refer to clouds and NA. NA works equally well.

NHS will likely give them antidepressants and perhaps access to a drop in centre and sessions but it won't be 12 step. Don't bother.

I work in a field where rehab is funded, residential no bells and whistles is around 17k , they tend not to do repayment plans as of someone lapses they are not going to pay it back

UndercoverCop · 10/04/2023 14:09

Oh that's in the south east of England

GallowwayGirl88 · 15/04/2023 04:13

@UndercoverCop thank you. I was hoping I could be the one on the “finance” for them.

Have arranged to meet with some other family to come up with a plan, fingers crossed!
