What's in your holiday first aid kit?

Just got back from a holiday where I got a cold and DC1 got bitten and discovered that the stand by holiday first aid kit that I'd grabbed from the cupboard just before we left has become depleted over the years and that, other than the plasters, what remains is way past it's before date. I'm putting a list together of what I think I should have:

  • plasters
  • ibuprofen
  • paracetamol
  • antihistamine
  • diarolyte (sp?)
  • antiseptic cream
  • strepsils

What am I missing?

We're normally fairly healthy and I'm always quite happy to look in a local pharmacy but the last 48 hours have showed that that is not always possible.

Those special blister plasters.
Determined not to forget them this year as on holiday I wear my walking sandals which are great apart from rubbing under my foot for the first few days.
Mosquito repellent.
Bite cream.

Those antiseptic wipes in single packets.
Saline wound wash.

antihistamine cream

plasters (regular, blister and burns ones)

Some excellent ideas here, many of which I have had in the past but have obviously used.
I feel as though I should be able to operate basic surgery given the size of the bag I carry it around it so it was a surprise to open it and find
It was largely empty.

Making notes.

I have had to rebuild our holiday first aid kit recently too and honestly the things I’ve ended up needing most were blister plasters, sting relief, saline pods, wound wipes, a couple of bandages and decent tape. Burn gel sachets are also handy if you’re somewhere hot.
If you don’t want to keep topping bits up individually, I ended up buying a ready-made kit and just adding our own meds (Calpol, ibuprofen, antihistamines etc). This is the one I got and it’s been really useful on holidays as it covers pretty much everything:
