I’m post menopausal and started taking vitamin C after I had an awful virus at Christmas. I would like to start taking more supplements but the amount of combinations are a bit overwhelming.

I have a bit of a rubbish gag reflex so have been taking chewable vitamin C. I’m really after taking B12, Vit D, magnesium and some sort of fish oil supplement. But what I would really like are chewable or liquid form.

It’s basically my joints, low mood and hair thinning that I’m hoping I can improve.

Can anyone recommend a liquid or chewable sort or a brand where the tablets are small.

Many thanks

Vitamin D Sainsbury's sell an effervescent lemon and lime tablet that you chuck in a glass of water, tastes lovely.

Better You do a vitamin D in spray form but even their gel tablets are chewable. They have no flavour so are not unpleasant. Most magnesium tablets are big but you can get flavoured powder that you stir into a drink. I find that unpleasant but I know some like it (or manage to develop a taste for it). B12 I'm not sure as I have that as an injection.

Just jumping on this thread - I take a multivitamin every day that contains all these things listed above. Is that not enough? Should you take things individually?

I found a hair supplement called NutriHair to be good. Think it was recommended on MN.

Floradix liquid has (I think) iron and vitamins A,B and C

Vit D drops for babies have the same dosage as adults need. It’s just one drop of oil on your tongue.

However as we’re coming into summer vitamin D may not be needed.

Lots of supplements aimed at women specifically come in gummy form, especially ones for hair skin and nails - try Boots, they usually have a 3 for 2 offer on vitamins.

I buy these vit D tablets from Amazon, they're TINY: Vitamin D 4000iu - 400 Premium Vitamin D3 Easy-Swallow Micro Tablets - One a Day High Strength Cholecalciferol VIT D3 - Vegetarian Supplement - Made in The UK by Incite Nutrition amzn.eu/d/eyawd3C

Oh it's been hidden. Boots do chewy vits

Lellochip · 05/04/2023 21:53

B12 you want to look for sublingual tablets (I take Best Naturals ones, from Amazon) - they're like normal tablets but you hold them under your tongue/lip and they're quite powdery so just sort of dissolve. You can just chew if you prefer too, they just absorb better in the mouth

You can buy vitamin D supplement which you just spray into your mouth into your cheek. Get some from Boots or a health shop. It’s very easy to use.

Any use to you @Iknowthatlife ?

Pixiedust1234 · 07/04/2023 11:01

I'm taking the spray form of Vit D with K2, Vit B12 spray and Iron spray from Better You (Boots, Superdrug etc sell it). I also do the chewable childs Vit C from aldi and chewable childs multivit from Lidl.

Once these run out my levels should be a lot better so I'm looking for an adult chewable multivit too. Would prefer tablet to the jelly one. But will stay with the Better You Vit D for the added Vit K.
