Electric underfloor heating for bathroom, and EPC?

I am planning a bathroom refurb and, as the bathroom is relatively large and cold, I'm considering electric underfloor heating. I know it is a relatively expensive way to heat a room, but I think it will heat it more effectively than the gas centrally heated towel rail we currently have, and we will be able to control the timing separately from the rest of the house, to coincide with usage patterns.

If you have any experience of electric underfloor heating, please share. I'm also interested to know what, if any, impact it will have on our Energy Performance Certificate - will it be positive, negative or neutral?

It’s lovely on the feet but won’t heat the room effectively

We had it in a previous house, I don't think it was mentioned on the EPC. It was nice on the feet but you would definitely need a towel rail as well - it's a real ball ache drying towels without one, as we've found in our current house which doesn't have them.

I was told it wasn't worth it unless you live in a well insulated home. Mine is Victorian so it wasn't worth it for me to increase the EPC.

I agree with pp, we have it in one bathroom and still use radiator/towel rail. Unless programmed, we forget to turn it on and still use bathmats on tiled floor otherwise ibv quite chilly.

Hotel standard luxury yes, maybe, but with the current energy costs we don't use it much and definitely not in the warmer months.
