Has anyone ever had Decapeptyl injection for PMS?

Posting for traffic please.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this injection for PMS/PMT

It's been 8 weeks and no improvement. Was told it would take 4-6 weeks for the symptoms to start easing but the cramps, headaches, backache and sore thighs are as bad as ever. Bleeding on and off as well...
Quite short tempered as well which is not how I planned to spend the Easter holidays...
Would love to hear others experiences
Thanks

I had to look it up, its a GnRH, right? I never got that far on the PMS pathway as I was discharged during covid and then diagnosed as perimenopausal instead. I wish I'd tried it though as HR made me feel hellish. Sorry not to be more use!

I've had two but for fibroids, not PMT. I'm having about 47 million hot flushes a day and am pretty fighty most of the time but no other symptoms.

Thanks for the responses so far.. not sure what you mean about

Not sure what you mean by GnRH?

I don't think it's working at all for me.. Hope the hot flushes ease soon x

I have it for endo. Have they given you HRT with it?

Doesn't sound like it's suiting you that well. Would they let you try Zoladex instead? Decapeptyl suited me much better than Zoladex but it might be the opposite for you.

Copout21 · 04/04/2023 22:51

I was on decapeptyl/zoladex for pms for a few years in my early 30s. Are you also on hrt? I found it to be better than having no treatment at all, but overall I still had lots of symptoms and my moods were up and down. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions

I'm trying to pm you @Copout21 and it won't let me for some reason!

It's week 9 now and some relief but still feel so tired, aches never far away despite doing Pilates and trying to eat healthily..

Due to see the consultant on Monday - don't know if it's worth getting it again or trying something else...

I took it for a couple of years to help cope with heavy bleeding from fibroids. Didn't completely like it I have to say but it was worth it for the reduced bleeding.
I took hrt at the same time.

I have PMDD and take citalopram which generally does the trick. Had you tried tha already? Sounds awful OP, I’m sorry you’ve had such a hard Easter break.
